Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message from the House of Commons, by Mr. Farrer and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for redeeming the Yearly Fund of the South Sea Company (being after the Rate of Six Pounds per Cent. per Annum); and settling on the said Company a Yearly Fund, after the Rate of Five Pounds per Cent. per Annum, redeemable by Parliament; and to raise, for an Annuity or Annuities at Five Pounds per Cent. per Annum, any Sum, not exceeding Two Millions, to be employed in lessening the National Debts and Incumbrances; and for making the said new Yearly Fund and Annuities to be hereafter redeemable in the Time and Manner thereby prescribed;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Message from thence, for a Free Conference about the Method of proceeding against the E. of Oxon.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Pelham and others:

To desire a Free Conference with this House, upon the Subject-matter of the last Conference.

Ordered, That this House will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Answer.

And the Commons were called in, and acquainted therewith.

Bank Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for redeeming several Funds of the Governor and Company of the Bank of England, pursuant to former Provisos of Redemption; and for securing to them several new Funds and Allowances, redeemable by Parliament; and for obliging them to advance further Sums, not exceeding Two Millions Five Hundred Thousand Pounds, at Five Pounds per Cent. per Annum, as shall be found necessary to be employed in lessening the National Debts and Incumbrances; and for continuing certain Provisions formerly made, for the Expences of His Majesty's Civil Government; and for Payment of Annuities formerly purchased at the Rate of Five Pounds per Cent. per Annum; and for other Purposes in this Act mentioned."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Monday next.

South Sea Bill.

Act for Papists to register their Estates, Bill to explain.

Whereas Wednesday last was appointed, for the House to be put into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the Bill, intituled, "An Act for explaining an Act passed the last Session of Parliament, intituled, An Act to oblige Papists to register their Names and Real Estates; and for the enlarging the Time for such registering:"

The House being this Day moved, "That their Lordships be put into a Committee, to consider further of the said Bill, on Thursday next:"

And Notice being taken, "That the Day mentioned is, by Order of this House, One of those Days on which Causes are appointed to be heard:"

No more Causes to be heard.

Ordered and Declared, That this House will hear no more Causes this Session of Parliament.

Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee, to consider further of the last mentioned Bill, on Thursday next; and that the Judges, or some of them, do then attend this House.

Lady Amelia Butler's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for raising and paying the Lady Amelia Butler's Portion out of Lands in Ireland."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Tuesday next.

Free Conference desired by the Commons, about the Method of proceeding against the E. of Oxford, denied.

The House proceeded to take into Consideration the Message brought this Day from the House of Commons, to desire a Free Conference with this House, upon the Subject-matter of the last Conference.

And, after Debate; and reading out of the Journal the Proceedings at the several Conferences in the Case of the Lord Viscount Mordaunt, upon his Impeachment in the Year 1666:

The Question was put, "Whether to give a Free Conference with the House of Commons, as is desired, upon the Subject-matter of the last Conference?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Ordered, That a Message be sent to the House of Commons, to acquaint them, "That the Subject-matter of the last Conference, concerning a Point of Judicature determined by this House after the Trial began; their Lordships do not think fit to give a Free Conference on the Subject-matter of the last Conference, as is desired by the House of Commons."

Message to H. C. that this House will proceed in his Trial.

And also that another Message be sent to the House of Commons, to acquaint them, "That their Lordships have ordered Robert Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer to be brought to the Bar of this House in Westminster Hall, on Monday next, at Eleven a Clock in the Forenoon, in order to proceed further on the Trial of the said Earl."

And Mr. Holford and Mr. Dormer were sent accordingly, with the said Messages.
