The Lord Chancellor declared, in the House, "That His Majesty had granted a Writ under the Great Seal, for the further proroguing of the Parliament."

Which was read, by the Clerk, as follows; (videlicet,)

Parliament prorogued.

"George the Second, by the Grace of God, of Great Britain, France, and Ireland, King, Defender of the Faith, &c. To Our Dearly-beloved and Faithful the Prelates, Nobles, and Lords, of Our Kingdom of Great Britain; and to Our Beloved and Faithful the Knights, Citizens, Burgesses, and Commissioners for the Counties and Boroughs, of Our said Kingdom; called and chosen to Our Parliament, to be held at Our City of Westminster, the Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant September, and to every One of you, Greeting. Whereas We, for certain difficult and pressing Affairs, concerning Us, the State and Defence of Our Kingdom of Great Britain and the Church, did ordain this present Parliament to be held at the aforesaid City, on the Thirteenth Day of June last past; and did command you, by Our several Writs, at the City and Day aforesaid, to be present, to treat, consent, and conclude, upon those Things which, in Our said Parliament, then and there should be proposed and treated of: And whereas We, by Our Writ, for certain Causes and Considerations Us thereunto especially moving, have thought fit to prorogue Our said Parliament, from the same Thirteenth Day of June, unto the Sixteenth Day of July last past; from thence, by another Writ, unto the Thirteenth Day of August last past; and from thence, by another Writ, unto the Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant September; so that neither you, or any One of you, at the said Days, are bound or obliged to appear at the said City; being willing that you, and every One of you, should, by Us be discharged therefrom; and, by the same Writ, We lately commanded you, and every One of you, to appear, and be personally present, on the said Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant September, at the City aforesaid, to treat, do, act, and conclude, upon those Things which, in Our said Parliament, shall happen to be ordained: Nevertheless, for certain Causes and Considerations Us hereunto especially moving, We have thought fit further to prorogue Our said Parliament, from the said Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant September, unto Thursday the Fourteenth Day of November next following; so that neither you, or any of you, on the said Twenty-sixth Day of this Instant September, at the aforesaid City, are bound or obliged to appear: We will therefore, that you, and every of you, shall be by Us therefrom wholly discharged; commanding, and, by the Tenor of these Presents, strictly requiring you, and every of you, and all others whom it may concern in this Behalf, that, at the said Fourteenth Day of November, at the aforesaid City of Westminster, you, and every One of you, appear and be personally present, to treat, do, act, and conclude, upon those Things which, in Our said Parliament, by the common Council of Our said Kingdom (by God's Assistance), shall happen to be ordained.
