Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting a Copyhold Messuage or Tenement, in the County of Middlesex, with the Appurtenances, devised by the Will of Mary late Dutchess of Northumberland, in Trustees, to enable them to sell and convey the same to the Lady Jane Coke, pursuant to an Agreement for that Purpose; and for laying out the Money arising by such Sale in the Purchase of another Estate, to be settled to the Uses appointed by the said Will."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

The Lord Sandys reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Part of the Estate late of Sir Thomas Stradling Baronet, deceased, in the Counties of Glamorgan and Somerset, for discharging Encumbrances affecting the same; and for a Division and Settlement of other Part thereof; and for other Purposes therein mentioned," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents, to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Sir J. St. Aubin & al. Bill to explain Sir W. Morice's Will.

The Earl of Warwick reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for explaining and making more effectual a Power contained in the Will of Sir William Morice Baronet, for making Leases of his several Estates, in the Counties of Devon and Cornwall," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents, to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Address for State of the National Debt.

Ordered, That an humble Address be presented to His Majesty, "That He will be graciously pleased to order the proper Officer to lay before this House, a State of the National Debt, provided or unprovided for by Parliament, as it stood on the 11th of January 1754, and the 11th of January 1755; together with an Accompt of the Produce of the Sinking Fund in that Year; and to the Payment of what Debts, contracted before the 25th Day of December 1716, the said Fund hath been applied."

Ordered, That the said Address be presented to His Majesty by the Lords with White Staves.

Ordered, That the Hearing of the Cause wherein Percival Lewis Esquire is Appellant, and Sir Henry Blunt and others are Respondents, which stands appointed for Wednesday, be put off till Friday next.

Murray and His Majesty's Advocate against Thomson & al.:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of James Murray Esquire, Receiver General of His Majesty's Customs in Scotland, and of His Majesty's Advocate, on Behalf of His Majesty; complaining of an Interlocutor of the Lords of Session in Scotland, of the 17th of November 1753; and of another Interlocutor of the same Lords, of the 18th of July 1754, whereby they adhered to their former Interlocutor; and praying, "That the said Interlocutors might be reversed; and that this House would grant the Appellants such other Relief in the Premises as to their Lordships in their great Wisdom should seem meet:" As also upon the Answer of Andrew Thomson Advocate in Aberdeen, and of the other Creditors of John Burnet late Merchant in Aberdeen, put in to the said Appeal; and due Consideration had of what was offered on either Side in this Cause:

Interlocutors affirmed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the said Interlocutors therein complained of be, and the same are hereby, affirmed.

The House being informed, "That Patrick Keaghran attended, in order to deliver in Copies of certain Orders and Proceedings, relating to a Cause depending in this House, wherein Arthur Houghton Esquire is Appellant, and Anne West and others are Respondents:"
