Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Ease in obtaining of Licences of Alienation, and in the Pleading of Alienations without Licence, in the Court of Exchequer, and elsewhere.

Message from the Commons, by
Sir Edward Cooke and others:

Message from the Commons, touching the Petition about Religion.

That their Committee had delivered them divers Alterations to be made in that pious Petition to the King, touching the establishing of Religion, which (being Eleven in Number) were put to the Question, and generally Agreed unto by that House.

They desire a Sub-committee to be appointed, to amend the said Petition accordingly; and they do think (if their Lordships please) that Six of their House will be a competent Number; but they humbly leave the Number, Time, and Place, unto their Lordships, and do likewise desire Expedition of all those Bills which they have sent, or hereafter shall send, to their Lordships.

Answered:

Answer.

That the Lords return all Thanks for their fair Acceptance of those Accommodations of that Petition; their Lordships have appointed a Sub Committee of Four, to meet presently, and do promise Expedition of the Bills sent, and to be sent, unto their Lordships.

E. Rutland's Privilege.

The Petition of Tobias Anderson, Servant to the Right Honourable the Earl of Rutland, was read; humbly desiring to be freed of his Imprisonment, according to the Privilege of Parliament.

Anderson discharged.

And Memorandum, That the said Tobias Anderson was brought up by the Sheriff of Lincolneshire, by virtue of a Habeas corpus cum causa, &c. coram Domino Rege in Cancellaria; and was brought before their Lordships upon the said Petition.

Ordered, To be set at Liberty, the Execution to be saved to the Plaintiff, and the Sheriff to be discharged.

Adjourn.
