Lord Keeper sent for to the King.

THE King sent for the Lord Keeper to come unto Him presently.

The House was adjourned ad Libitum.

The Lord Keeper being returned, and the House resumed, his Lordship signified His Majesty's Desire, "That the House and all Committees be adjourned till To-morrow Morning."

The House, apprehending a sudden Dissolution of Parliament, consider of the State of the Nation.

After this Message was delivered, the House, doubting there would be a sudden Dissolution of the Parliament, fell into Consideration of the weak Estate of this Kingdom, and of our Friends and Allies Abroad, and the great Strength of the House of Austria, and of the King of Spaine's ambitious Aspiring to a Monarchy, and His great Preparations for War at this Time; and this being fully debated, the House was moved to name a select Committee to present the same unto His Majesty, and the Dangers thereof likely to ensue unto this Kingdom, if the Parliament should be now dissolved without any happy Conclusion to resist the same.

Lords Privy Counsellors satisfy the House that they need not apprehend an immediate Dissolution of the Parliament.

But the House being satisfied, by divers of the Lords of the Privy Council, that there was no such Cause as the House apprehended, to fear any sudden Dissolution of the Parliament, the naming of the Committee was deferred for this Time.

Adjourn.

Dominus Custos Magni Sigilli declaravit præsens Parliamentum continuandum esse usque in diem crastinum, videlicet, diem Veneris, 6m diem instantis Junii, hora nona, Dominis sic decernentibus.
