Importation of Copper Bars, &c. Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Rose Fuller and others:

With a Bill, intituled, An Act to continue several Laws therein mentioned, relating to the allowing a Drawback of the Duties upon the Exportation of Copper Bars imported; to the Encouragement of the Silk Manufactures, and for taking off several Duties on Merchandize exported, and reducing other Duties; to the Premium upon Masts, Yards, and Bowsprits, Tar, Pitch, and Turpentine; to the encouraging the Growth of Coffee in His Majestys Plantations in America; to the securing the Duties upon Foreign-made Sail Cloth, and charging Foreign-made Sails with a Duty; and for enlarging the Times limited for executing and performing several Provisions, Powers, and Directions, in Acts of this Session of Parliament; to which they desire the Concurrence f this House.

Exportation Spirits, &c. Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Paterson and others:

With a Bill, intituled, An Act for explaining Part of an Act made in the Second Year of the Reign of His present Majesty, relating to the Removal for Home Consumption of Spirits made for Exportation; for laying an additional Duty upon the Importation of Silk Crapes and Tiffanies; for allowing the Exportation of a certain Quantity of Gum Senegal and Gum Arabic to Ireland, free of Duty, for the Use of the Manufacturers there; for permitting the Importation into this Kingdom from the Isle of Man of a certain Quantity of Bugles; and for altering certain Regulations relating to the Tonnage of Ships exporting and importing Spirits; to which they desire Concurrence of this House.

The said Six Bills were severally read the First Time.

St. Andrew Holdbourn, Poor Bill.

The Lord Botetourt reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for the better regulating and employing the Poor, and for cleansing, lighting, and watching, the Squares, Streets, Lanes, and other Places, within that Part of the Parish of Saint Andrew Holbourn which lies above the Bars, in the County of Middlesex, and the Parish of Saint George the Martyr in the said County, was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment.

Dartford Road, Bill.

The Lord Botetourt also made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for repairing and widening several Roads leading to the Town of Dartford, in the County of Kent, was committed.

River chelmer navigable, Bill.

The Earl of Abercorn made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for making the River Chelmer navigable, from the Port of Maldon to the Town of Chelmsford, in the County of Essex, was committed

Ellingham Common, Bill.

The Lord Walpole reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for dividing and enclosing the Commons and Waste Grounds in the Manor and Parish of Little Ellingham, in the County of Norfolk, was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which were found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents, to the Satisfaction of the Committee; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment.

Balderton Common, Bill.

The Lord Sandys made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for dividing and enclosing the Open Fields, Meadow, Common Pastures, and Waste Grounds, in the Parish of Balderton, in the County of Nottingham, was committed.

Darley Common, Bill.

The Lord Sandys also made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for dividing and enclosing a certain Common Parcel of Waste Ground, or Moor, situate in the Liberty of Darley, in the County of Derby, called Darley Common, was committed.

Adderbury Common, Bill.

The Lord Sandys also made the like Report from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for dividing and enclosing certain Open and Common Fields and Commonable Lands in the Parish of Adderbury, in the County of Oxford, was committed.

French to revive Appeal.

Upon reading the Petition of Ann French Spinster, Niece and Heir at Law of Robert French Esquire, deceased, and of Honora French the Widow and Administratrix of the said Robert French, Appellant in a Cause depending in this House, to which Sir Ulick Blake Baronet and others are Respondents; praying, That the said Appeal may stand, and be revived in the Names of the said Petitioners, in such Manner as to the House shall seem meet:

It is Ordered, That the said Appeal be revived; and that the Petitioners do stand in the Place of the said Robert French the late Appellant, and have the same Benefit of the Appeal, as if he was now living.

Streatham Waterbeach &c. Drainage, Bill.

The Lord Delamer reported from the Lords Committees to whom the Bill, intituled, An Act for draining and preserving Streatham Common, in the Isle of Ely and County of Cambridge; and for empowering the Commissioners for putting in Execution an Act for the effectual Draining and Preservation of Waterbeach Level, in the County of Cambridge; and to establish an Agreement made between the Lord of the Manor of Waterbeach cum Denny and the Commoners within the said Manor, to raise a Sum of Money, to pay the Debts owing upon the Credit of the said Act, was committed: That they had considered the said Bill, as also the Petition to them referred; and had heard Counsel, and examined Witnesses for the Petitioners against the said Bill upon their Petition; and had also heard Counsel for the Bill; and that the Committee had gone through the Bill, and directed him to report the same to the House without any Amendment.

Ordered, That the said Bill be re-committed; and that the Committee do meet, to consider the said Bill, To-morrow.

Message from H. C. to return pleyd Its Estate, Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Charles Kemys Tynte and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, An Act for vesting the settled Estates of Edmund Morton Pleydell Esquire, in the Counties of York and Lincoln, in Trustees, to be sold; and for laying out the Money to arise by such Sale in the Purchase of other Lands, to be settled to the like Uses; and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

To regulate the Seizing of Papers, Bill.

Message from H. C. to return La Roches Nat. Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Lowndes and others

To return the Bill, intituled An Act for naturalizing Peter de la Roche; and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, with some Amendments, to which they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

The House proceeded to take the said Amendments into Consideration.

And the same, being read Three Times by the Clerk, were agreed to by the House.

A Message was sent to, the House of Commons, by the former Messengers, to acquaint them therewith.

Whale Fishery in Scotland, Accounts delivered.

The House being informed, That Mr. Rowe, from the Commissioners of the Customs in Scotland, attended:

He was called in; and delivered, at the Bar,

An Account of what Number of Ships from Scotland have been employed in the Whale Fishery to Daviss Streights and the Greenland Seas, with their respective Names and Burdens; from whence they were fitted out, and at what Port they were discharged; and also what Quantity of Whale Fins and Oil each Ship has imported, from the 10th of October 1764, to the 10th of October 1765.

And then he withdrew.

And the Title thereof being read, by the Clerk:

Ordered, That the said Account do lie on the Table.

Forfeited Estates in Scotland, Report of Commissioners for managing them delivered.

The House being informed, That the said Mr. Rowe, from the Treasury, attended:
