The Answer of George Earl of Morton to the Appeal of Alexander Grant, Writer in Edinburgh, was this Day brought in.

Foley against Burnell and Armstrong in Error.

Ordered, That the Hearing of the Errors argued, assigned upon the Writ of Error, wherein Andrew Foley Esquire is Plaintiff, and John Burnell and James Armstrong are Defendants, which stands appointed for this Day, be put off to Monday the 27th Day of this Instant April; and that the Judges do then attend.

D. Leeds and Ld. Clifford take their Seats.

This Day Francis Duke of Leeds sat first in Parliament after the Death of his Father Thomas Duke of Leeds; his Grace having first at the Table taken the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration; and also taken and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Garter King at Arms delivered in at the Table his Grace's Pedigree, pursuant to the Standing Order.

This Day Edward Lord Clifford sat first in Parliament after the Death of his Father Edward Lord Clifford; his Lordship having first at the Table taken the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration; and also taken and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Hertfordbridge Road Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for continuing and rendering more effectual several Acts for repairing the Road from Hertfordbridge Hill to the Town of Basingstoke, and also the Road from Hertfordbridge Hill aforesaid to the Town of Odiham, in the County of Southampton; and for extending the Limits of the said last-mentioned Road, from the present Termination thereof in the said Town of Odiham, to the Road leading from thence through the said Town, to the Great Western Road at Bartley Heath, in the said County."

Moland's Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable Richard Moland Esquire, natural Guardian of his Infant Daughters Elizabeth Moland, Anna Maria Moland, Lœtitia Martha Moland, and Margaret Lucy Moland, and in case of his Death, the future Guardian or Guardians of his said Daughters, during their Minorities, to grant building Leases of one undivided Moiety of certain Lands, in the Parishes of Birmingham, and Aston near Birmingham, in the County of Warwick; and to lay out convenient Streets, Ways, and Passages to the Buildings to be erected thereon."

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Robert Laurie and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing and widening the Road from Grateney by Annan, Dumfries, and Sanquhar, in the County of Dumfries, to the Confines of the County of Ayr, and the Road from Corsenarget to Wanlockhead, in the said County of Dumfries;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

The said Bill was read the First Time.

Sir J. Ingilby's Estate Bill.

Ordered, That the Sitting of the Committee to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir John Ingilby Baronet to charge his Settled Estates in the County of York, in the Manner therein mentioned," stands committed, which stands appointed for To-morrow, be put off to Wednesday the 6th Day of May next.

Upon reading the Petition of William John Arabin Esquire; praying Leave to bring in a Bill to dissolve his Marriage with Henrietta Molyneux his now Wife, and to enable him to marry again:

The Order of the Day being read for the Attendance of Sir William Chambers, His Majesty's Surveyor of the Works:

He was called in, and appearing at the Bar, produced,

"A Plan of the Preparations made in Saint Paul's Church for the Accommodation of the Lords."

He was directed to withdraw.

Orders for the greater Solemnity of the Day.

Ordered, That the Heralds and Marshall's Men do attend this House on Thursday the Twenty-third Instant, at Eight of the Clock in the Forenoon; and that the Marshall's Men do call the Coaches as directed by the Herald.

Ordered, That the Clerk of the Parliaments, the Clerk Assistant, and the Reading Clerk, being the Clerks attending in this House according to the Order of 6th February 1723, do attend this House to Saint Paul's Church on Thursday the 23d Instant, at Eight of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Ordered, That the Masters in Chancery do attend this House to Saint Paul's Church, on Thursday the 23d Instant, at Eight of the Clock in the Forenoon.

Ordered, That the High Steward of the City of Westminster, or his Deputy, together with the Justices of Peace of the said City, shall by their Care and Directions to the Constables and other Officers within the said Limits, take special Order, that no Hackney Coaches be suffered to make any Stay between the Old Palace Yard at Westminster, and Temple Bar, from Eight o'Clock on Thursday the 23d Instant, in the Forenoon, to Six o'Clock in the Afternoon of the same Day; and that no Carriages, Carts, or Drays, be permitted to pass through any of the Streets between the Old Palace Yard Westminster, and Temple Bar, between the Hours aforesaid, on Thursday the 23d Instant; and herein special Care is to be taken by the High Steward, Deputy Steward, and Justices of the Peace, as the contrary will be answered to this House.

Ordered, That the Lord Chancellor do write to the Lord Mayor of the City of London, to give Order and take Care to prevent any Stoppages between Temple Bar and the Old Exchange in London, on Thursday the 23d Instant, from Eight o'Clock in the Forenoon to Six o'Clock in the Afternoon; and that no Carts or Drays be permitted to pass through the Streets between the Hours aforesaid.

Ordered, That the Lords Coaches go in the same Places they are called.

Ordered, That no Lord of this House shall go to Saint Paul's Church with more than Two Horses to his Coach the Twenty-third Instant.
