Ordinance to explain the Order for sequestering the Revenues of the Dean and Chapter of St. Paul's, and paying 400 l. per Annum to Dr. Burges.
The Ordinance for Explanation of an Ordinance made the 12th of March, 1643, concerning the Sequestering of the Rents and Revenues of the Dean and Chapter of Paule's, for paying Four Hundred Pounds per Annum to Dr. Burges, &c. was read Twice, and committed to these Lords following:

Message from the Assembly, with the Form of Ordination of Ministers.
This Day a Message was brought from the Assembly of Divines, by Dr. Burges, and divers others Divines; (fn. 1) acquainting their Lordships, "That, according to their Lordships Order for settling the Discipline of the Church, in Obedience thereunto the Assembly have set upon the Work; but, in April the 3d, they received an Order from the Houses, to set upon the Doctrinal and Directory Part of the Ordination of Ministers; and accordingly they have made bold to offer to their Lordships their Opinions concerning the Doctrinal Part and Directory Part of Ordination;" which was read.
Doctor Burges further said, "That these were the First Fruits of the Assembly; and, if these shall receive Sanction and Confirmation from their Lordships, it will abundantly recompense for the long Time they were in Debate; and the Assembly recommends them to the Blessing of God, for a good Success upon them."
The House received the Paper, and read it.
