4 March 1597
Entry M, a surgeon, was charged with practising medicine. He confessed to giving Alderman Taylor purgative potions, but in connection with a case relating to surgery. He had also given Porter - feeble and weak, suffering from diarrhoea - cooling medicinal potions. M spoke confidently and considered that he had done well.
Action taken Forbidden to practise. Imprisoned. Fined £5.
