The master and brethren of the Hospitallers. Whereas they in their general chapter gave to brother John de Anlaby, for his life, the administrations of Eycle, Beruerre, and Beverlee, and the churches of Asbaley, Whitekirke, Marnham, and Kelington, to be served by secular vicars, and also the manors of Fanflar, Foukebrigg, Alwarthon, and Westerdale, and the mills of Bracebrigg, in the dioceses of Lincoln and York; and thereupon John de Pavelino, then locum tenens of the master and brethren, now prior of the Hospitallers in England, and brother Robert de Hales opposed the grant, and despoiled John of the said administrations, churches, manors, and mills, wherefore divers causes were heard in the papal palace touching the matter in dispute, and the pope ordered John Castellanus, the prior of St. Giles, and the locum tenens, to put an end to the said causes, which was done. The pope is prayed to confirm the ordinance made by the said persons, and to order it to be executed.

John de Grandissono, bishop of Exeter. His elder brother, Peter, knight, and his father's heir, made a will, which when very near death was brought to him by some of those who assisted him as though he wished to alter it, inasmuch as when in health he often said and promised, seeing that he had neither wife nor children, that he would correct and alter it at his brother's counsel and assent, and would order everything according to his brother's judgment. Nevertheless he died without making any other will; whereupon John, bishop of Hereford, in whose diocese he died, sequestrated all his personal property. Although the said bishop was notoriously out of his mind, his official or commissary, and the archdeacon of Scrobury (Salop), by name Henry de Shipton, with William de Penbrugge and others, pronounced that his brother died intestate, and that the administration of his personal property lapsed to the said bishop. The bishop of Exeter prays the pope to issue a mandate of inquiry to some bishop or other indifferent person, who shall see that justice is done.
