Housekeeper c. 1697-1800

The salary of £40 attached to this office was originally paid out of the contingent fund. The identity of its holders can be ascertained only after 1697 from which date the salary was transferred to the ordinary establishment. (fn. 1) The office had become a sinecure by 1786. (fn. 2) It was abolished in 1800. (fn. 3)
