Assistant Controller of Victualling Accounts 1691-1731

This office, to which appointments were made by Admiralty warrant, was created in 1691 with a salary of £300. (fn. 1) It was abolished in 1698, but revived in 1699. (fn. 2) In 1731 the office was discontinued, following the transfer from the Navy Board to the Victualling Office of the duty of examining and passing pursers' accounts. (fn. 3)
