Can anyone tell me where Buxgrave is situated in England? A German friend has discovered an English ancestor, John Newland - Born 29th July 1772 in Buxgrave, England, but all the usual internet searches have returned nothing. What is the name of the village/town/area today?

There is the village of Boxgrove just east of Chichester in West Sussex whose name is often misspelled as Boxgrave. Would this be of any help?
