Question

Dec 04 2012, 20:50:12 Staymaker

I wonder if someone might be able to assist me? If in the Eighteenth Century a staymaker needed to undergo an apprenticeship, then would there have been a guild for master staymakers? I have searched the web to no avail and the Merchant Taylors and Drapers were unable to help. I am searching particularly for a Peter Skinner, of St Martin in the Fields, who in 1717 paid for his son to become an apprenticed goldsmith.
If someone could point me in the right direction to further my quest, I would be grateful.
Thank you,
David Cornelius
