Bill for a free Gift to the King.

The House was adjourned into a Committee of the whole House, to take into Consideration the Bill for a free and voluntary Present for His Majesty.

The House being resumed;

The Lord Chamberlain reported, That the Committee of the whole House have considered of this Bill, and have filled up Two Blanks, with Amendments, which are offered to the Consideration of the House.

The said Amendments, being read Twice, were confirmed.

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for a free and voluntary Present to His Majesty."

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill, with these Alterations, shall pass as a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with Bills.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by the Lord Chief Baron and Baron Turner:

To return them Two Bills, to which their Lordships do agree, with some small Alterations, and desire their Concurrence therein:

1. "An Act to repeal an Act, intituled, An Act to disable Persons in holy Orders to exercise Temporal Jurisdiction or Authority."

2. "An Act for a free and voluntary Present to His Majesty."

The Messengers return with this Answer:

That the House of Commons agrees in the Additions and Amendments in the Two Bills sent down this Morning.

Message from thence, with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Vowell and others; who brought up a Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable the Sale of some of the Lands of Thomas Hunt Esquire, and John Hunt Gentleman, for Payment of their Debts;" which Bill the House of Commons have passed, and desire their Lordships Concurrence therein.

Dutchess of Somerset's Pet. concerning her Suit against the Earls of Manchester and Northumberland, Executors of the E. of Essex.

A Petition of the Dutchess of Somersett, with Papers annexed, were read; desiring the Revocation of an Order of this House made lately, for staying of Proceedings in a Cause (during the Privilege of Parliament) depending in the Court of Delegates, between the Petitioner, and the Lord Chamberlain and the Earl of Northumberlande and others.

But the House saw no Cause to revoke their former Order upon this Petition.

Owen's Pet.

Upon the exhibiting of the Petition of John Owen, Citizen and Grocer of London, this Day to the House:

It is ORDERED, That the said Petition and Contents thereof are hereby referred to the Committee formerly appointed for the Earl of Derbie's Bill; and afterwards their Lordships are to report their Proceedings thereupon to this House.
