ORDERED, That the Committee for the Bill for Relief of the Poor shall meet this Afternoon.

Bill for regulating the Navy.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for the Establishment of Articles and Orders for the Regulating and better Government of His Majesty's Navies, Ships of War, and Forces by Sea, of the Kingdom of England."

The Earl of Dorsett reported from the Committee, the Bill concerning John Harbin, and the Bill concerning Thomas Hunt, as fit to pass, without any Alterations.

Harbin's Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act enabling John Harbin Esquire to settle and dispose of several Manors, Messuages, Lands, Tenements, and Hereditaments, with the Appurtenances, in the Counties of Som'sett and Dorsett, therein mentioned, for Payment of his Debts, and to make Provision for his Younger Children."

And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass for a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. that Two Bills from thence are passed.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Dr. Lewin and Dr. Brampston:

To let them know, that this House hath passed the Bill for confirming Public Acts, and the Bill concerning the Masters of the Chancery.

Hunt's Bill.

The Question being put, "Whether this Bill shall pass for a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Brudnell's Nat. Bill.

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, "An Act for naturalizing of Francis Brudnell Esquire, Son and Heir Apparent of the Right Honourable Robert Lord Brudnell; and of the Right Honourable Anna Maria Countess of Shrewsbury, and now Wife of the Right Honourable Francis Earl of Shrewsbury."

And the Question being put, "Whether this Act shall pass for a Law?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Penal Laws against Priests, &c.

ORDERED, That the Report concerning the Penal Laws shall be proceeded in de Die in Diem, as Occasion will give Leave, until it be finished.

King will come to pass a Bill:

The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House, "That the King intends to come to this House on Monday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, to pass the Royal Assent to the Act for confirming Public Acts."

Message to H. C. about it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Justice Twisden and Justice Windham:

To let them know, that the King hath sent Word to their Lordships, that He intends to be here on Monday Morning next, to pass the Royal Assent to the Act for confirming Public Acts.

Messages from H. C. with Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir John Denham and others; who brought up a Bill, which hath passed that House, intituled, "An Act for the Well-governing and Regulating of Corporations;" wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Henry North and others; who brought up divers Bills, which have passed the House of Commons, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence:

1. "An Act enabling Trustees to sell certain Lands and Tenements, in the Counties of Suffolk and Norff. for the Payment of the Debts of Richard Gipps Esquire, and providing Portions for his Younger Children."

2. "An Act to enable Algernon Peyton, Doctor in Divinity, to make Sale of Part of his Lands for Payment of Debts.

3. "An Act for the enabling of Churchwardens to assess and levy such Sums of Money as shall be necessary to be expended in the repairing of Churches, and upon other Occasions incident to their Office."

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Solomon Swale and others; who returned the Bill formerly sent to them, for restoring Mr. Radcliffe to his Lands in Ireland, to which they have agreed without any Alterations.

E. of Derby and his Purchasers.

The Counsel between the Earl of Derby and some of the Purchasers of his Lands were heard, at this Bar.

And the further Consideration of this Business is deferred until the Committee make Report of the Bill.

Ld. Crofts, Privilege, in Turges's Suit against him.

The House being informed, "That Thomas Turges prosecuteth an Action in Ejectment, in the Court of King's Bench, against John Mills, to recover from him the Possession of One Messuage and Fifty Acres of Land, and Fifty Acres of Pasture, with the Appurtenances, in Reigate; the said John Mills the Defendant being formerly a Tenant to John Hele Esquire, and now to the Lord Crofts (a Peer of this Realm):

It is ORDERED, That the Suit (being prosecuted contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, the Title and Defence thereof properly belonging to the said Lord Crofts) shall be no further proceeded in against the said John Mills, during the Privilege of this Parliament, unless his Lordship shall please to wave his Privilege: And hereof all Counsel, Attornies, and Solicitors, now employed or to be employed about the Premises, are to take Notice, and obey this Order, as the contrary shall be answered to this House.
