Prayers.

Leave of Absence.

ORDERED, That Sir Thomas Dike have the Leave of this House to go into the Country, to attend the Assizes.

Rogues and Vagabonds.

A Bill for suppressing Rogues and Vagabonds, and transporting them to Foreign Plantations, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to Mr. Crouch, Sir Hen. Herbert, Sir Lanc. Lake, Mr. Knight, Sir John Holland, Lord Richardson, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Solomon Swale, Mr. Westfaling, Sir Hen. Worsley, Mr. Jones, Mr. Scawen, Mr. Gawdy, Mr. Coventry, Sir John Shaw, Mr. Wren, Colonel Whitley, Sir Robert Atkyns, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir Clifford Clifton, Mr. Clifford, Colonel Reames, Sir Tho. Gower, Mr. Attorney of the Duchy, Sir Tho. Tompkins, Sir Rich. Braham, Sir Hen. North, Mr. Garway, Colonel Kirkby, Sir Wm. Thomson, Mr. Phillips, Sir Tho. Peyton, Sir Cha. Harbord, Sir Geo. Probert, Sir Rich. Oatley, Sir John Rouse, Sir Justin Isham, Dr. Birkinhead, Sir Roger Bradshaigh, Mr. Jolly, Colonel Windham, Sir Geo. Ryve, Mr. Thurland, Mr. Wm. Sandys: And all the Members of this House, that come to the said Committee, are to have Voices thereat: And they are to meet on Thursday next, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Mr. Collins, a Member of this House, have the Leave of this House to go into the Country.

King appoints to be attended.

Sir William Compton reports, That he, with some other Members of this House, of his Majesty's honourable Privy Council, had attended his Majesty; and signified unto him the Desires of this House, to wait on his Majesty at such Time and Place as he should please to appoint: And that his Majesty did receive the Message very graciously, as he doth all Things that come from this House; and, to give them a Testimony of it, had appointed the shortest Time he could for the House to attend him; which was this Afternoon at Three of the Clock, in the Banquesting House at Whitehall.

Rogues and Vagabonds.

A Bill for Suppressing of Rogues, and Ordering of Persons committed to the Common Goal for Theft and Petit Larceny, was this Day read the Second time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to the same Committee to which the Bill for Suppressing Rogues and Vagabonds, and transporting them to Foreign Plantations, was committed: And they are to peruse both Bills; and to incorporate them; and to extract out of both one Bill, which may be effectual for Suppressing and Ordering of Rogues and Vagabonds.

Grocers Free School.

A Bill for the Incorporating of the Master and Wardens, of the Company of Grocers, London, to be Governors of the Free School in Whitney, in the County of Oxford, of the Foundation of Henry Box Esquire, Citizen and Grocer of London; and for the Settling of Lands and Possessions on that School, for the Maintenance thereof; was this Day read the First time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read the Second time, on Thursday next.

Address.

The Address and Reasons of this House to be presented to his Majesty, being fair written, were this Day read the Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the Word "in" be made "upon."

Resolved, &c. That these Words, "and Religion established," be added after the Word "Uniformity."

Flax and Hemp.

Ordered, That Colone Birch have Leave to bring in a Bill for sowing Flax and Hemp.

And then the House adjourned till Two of the Clock in the Afternoon.

Post Meridiem.

Committees.

ORDERED, That the Committees appointed to sit Yesterday in the Afternoon, and this Afternoon, be adjourned till Thursday next, Two of the Clock of the Afternoon.

Ministers Maintenance.

Ordered, That it be referred to Sir Wm. Lowther, to take special Care for preparing, and bringing in, the Bill for Maintenance of Ministers in Corporations, formerly referred to a Committee.

Answer to Address.

Mr. Speaker, and the Members of this House, accompanying him, according to his Majesty's Appointment, went, in a Body, to attend his Majesty, at the Banqueting House in Whitehall, with the Address of Thanks, and Reasons for the Vote of Non Indulgence, to be presented to his Majesty: And, being returned;

Mr. Speaker reported, That the Answer his Majesty gave thereunto, was to this Effect; viz.

"That he gave us hearty Thanks for our many Thanks; that never any King was so happy in a House of Commons as he is in this; that the Paper and Reasons were long, and therefore he would take Time to consider of them, and send us a Message; that we could never differ but in Judgment; and That must be when he did not rightly express himself, or we did not rightly understand him; but our Interest was so far linked together, that we could never disagree."

And then the House adjourned till Thursday Morning next, Eight of the Clock.
