BISHOPS OF COVENTRY AND LICHFIELD

Bishopric valued 1535 at £703 5s 3d (Valor III 130). From the dissolution of Coventry priory in 1539 the bishops became increasingly known as bishops of Lichfield and Coventry, and this title was regular from 1660. By 1836 they were called simply bishops of Lichfield.
