Enrolment of deed testifying that William bishop of Winchester and brother John, prior of the cathedral church of St. Swithun, Winchester, are bound by this deed to Master Gilbert de Bruera, dean of St. Paul's church, London, in 60l. to be paid to him or his attorney in St. Paul's church as follows, to wit at Martinmas next 30l. and at the Purification following 30l. without any further delay. Dated at London on Sunday after St. Dunstan, 25 Edward III.
Memorandum that the said bishop and prior came into chancery at London on 23 May and acknowledged the preceding deed.
Enrolment of deed testifying that although William bishop of Winchester and brother John, prior of the cathedral church of St. Swithun, Winchester, are bound to Gilbert de Bruera, dean of St. Paul's church, London, in 60l. by the preceding bond, Gilbert grants that during his lifetime the 60l. shall not be sought of the bishop and prior and they shall not be bound to pay it; he also grants that if he die before the Annunciation in any year, then nothing of the 60l. shall be paid to his executors, but the bishop and prior shall be quit of their bond, but if he die after the Annunciation and before Michaelmas, then he grants that if the bishop and prior pay 50 marks to the executors at the terms aforesaid in the said church, then the bond shall be null. Dated at Suthwerk on Monday after St. Dunstan, 25 Edward III.

Enrolment of deed testifying that whereas John de Langeton, knight, is bound by a recognisance to William atte Water in 100s. to be paid to him at Michaelmas in the 26th year of the reign, William grants that if he holds in peace the lands which formerly belonged to John Convers in Knyghtbrigge, Chelcheethe, Kensyngton and Eye without being ousted therefrom by Richard de Playford and Amice his wife, by action tried in the king's court and judgment rendered, then the recognisance shall be null. Enrolment of indenture made between John de Cornhull of Willesdon, co. Middlesex, and William de Swalclive, citizen and vintner of London, testifying that whereas John has leased to William and to Alice his wife all his chief messuage with the houses built thereon and all other appurtenances, which John lately recovered against Robert de Shordich, citizen and goldsmith of the same city, in the husting of London, in the parish of St. Fastre, Westchep, London, to hold for the term of their lives, rendering 100s. yearly to John at the four principal terms of the year usual in that city, with power of distraint if the rent be in arrear; and as John has charged with a yearly rent of 100s. all the lands which he holds in Middlesex, to the said William for life and to William's heirs for Alice's life, William grants that if he and Alice do not lose the said tenements before the end of the said term by the suit of John's heirs by reason of any tail made before the drawing up of these presents, then the deed for the rent charge shall lose its force, provided always that if they lose the said tenements by such suit, and shall have incurred costs in building houses there to the value of 40 marks without making waste therein, then the deed for the rent shall remain in force; and William also grants that John shall be discharged of the said rent charge if William and Alice do not lose the tenements as aforesaid and shall have incurred charges there as aforesaid.
