To the sheriffs of London. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of Robert Charwelton, Robert Fraunkeleyn, Walter Boneface and John Clerk 'letherseller,' all of London, in favour of Adam Stalwortheman at suit of the king and Thomas Whitton 'brewer' for retaining in his service John Stalwortheman who left the service of the said Thomas at London before the term agreed.

Thomas de la Bere to John Adam chaplain and John Retforde. Letter of attorney, appointing them to give John de Chytterne clerk seisin of the manor of Sulesmerssh and all lands of the said Thomas in the parish of Hengstrugge. Dated 19 February 12 Richard II.
Thomas de la Bere to John de Chytterne clerk, his heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of the manor of Sulesmerssh and all lands which the said Thomas ever had in the parish of Hengstrugge, with rents, woods, reversions etc. Dated 25 February 12 Richard II.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Order of the king's compassion, upon petition of Richard de Kirkebride knight and his fellows, collectors in Cumberland of the moiety of a tenth and fifteenth granted to the king in the parliament holden at Westminster in 10 Richard II, amounting as they aver to 124l. 12s. 2½d., to have regard to the ruin of great number of towns and hamlets there by attacks of the king's enemies of France and Scotland, and to put the collectors at a light and not excessive fine for their contempt in not appearing before the treasurer etc. at a day set to render their account; and when the fine is paid, writ of supersedeas in respect of their demand upon the collectors to answer for that contempt, and order to discharge them, releasing any distress and attachment made for that cause; as the collectors have shewn the king that at his command by virtue of letters of the privy seal and of a tally levied in the receipt of the exchequer, which they have with them to produce upon their account, they paid thereof 100l. to Ralph de Neville and Thomas de Clifford knights then keepers of the castle and town of Karliol, and that they may not levy of the said towns and hamlets certain sums which used to be paid at every such grant. To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Richard earl of Arundell, lately appointed with others a justice of the peace in Surrey, and to arrest and imprison in strait custody any who should gather in unlawful assemblies, and order to release any distress upon him made, proceeding nevertheless against others who meddled therein; as in his session the earl found nought for which estreats ought to be sent to the exchequer, as he has particularly witnessed in chancery, but the treasurer etc. are unlawfully distraining him to deliver estreats.
To the same. Like writ in regard to the said earl's appointment as justice of the peace in Surrey, justice to keep the statutes of Winchester, Norhampton and Westminster concerning the peace, and justice of oyer and terminer there; as that commission was not delivered to him nor by him received for execution, neither did he meddle in aught therein contained, as he has witnessed in chancery.

Writ of supersedeas omnino, by mainprise of John Boseworth of Berkshire, Robert Keleby and Robert Spaldynge of Middlesex and William Abram of Norffolk, in favour of John Lavyngton, William Dasshe, Richard Totteforde of Wynkefelde and William Adam at suit of John Bradewelle clerk for trespass.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Thomas (sic) and Elizabeth or other executors of Edmund Giffard, appointed with others a justice to keep the river Thames in Oxfordshire and Berkshire between Walyngforde and Gorynge according to the statute of 25 Edward III, and order to release any distress made upon the said executors; as that commission was never delivered to the said Edmund nor by him received for execution, neither had he knowledge of it, nor meddled in aught therein contained, as John Thame has made oath in chancery, having taken to wife Elizabeth who was wife and is executrix of the said Edmund and tenant of his lands.
To the same. Like writ in respect of any process against Peter de Bukton knight and John de Thornholme, justices appointed to survey sewers etc. bridges and highways along the coasts of the river of Hull and adjacent parts in Yorkshire from Kyllyngwyke, Scoreburgh, Watton, Besewyke, Lokyngton and Rotse to Ake, Eske, Erughome and the manor of Bergh; as that commission was not delivered to them etc., as the said Peter has witnessed in chancery.

Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against John Obdoun clerk of the exchequer appointed by letters patent of 9 June 11 Richard II with Richard Thurgrym late escheator in Worcestershire to make inquisition there concerning the names of all ministers of the king who by reason of their offices ought to keep assizes of wine and victuals, and trafficked in such wine and victuals while in office in gross or at retail contrary to the statute, and order to release any distress against him made; as that commission was not delivered to the said John, neither did he meddle in aught therein contained, nor did any estreats come to his hands at any session, as he has truly witnessed in chancery.

Memorandum that on 23 February 12 Richard II Master William Forester clerk of the diocese of Lincoln, parson of Burton in Kendale in the diocese of York, came into chancery and renounced all right in the archdeaconry of Winchester and every process thereupon pending in the court of Rome or elsewhere, releasing all actions real and personal, all claims and demands against William bishop of Winchester, Sir Roger Walden clerk possessor of the archdeaconry, Master John Bloxham, his heirs and executors, John Wendore, Richard Alynton, Thomas Hilman, Thomas Dollynge, John Lyndoun, Stephen Wotton, William Clynte, John More, Robert Pedul, William Castell, John Baunebury, William Horsham, John Aylemere, Edward Upton, Richard Kyngeston, Simon Wylett', John Haseley, Stephen Brakeley, Robert Brigge, John Bokyngham, John Kedynton, John Swafham, Roger Chiddesley and Robert Boturwyke or any person living or dead by reason of a provision of the archdeaconry to him made.
