Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against Robert de Wilughby, Philip Darcy, John de Welle, Robert de Hilton, Anthony Mallory then sheriff of Lincoln and John Orwelle serjeant at arms, appointed by letters patent of 1 September 13 Richard II to make inquisition in Lincolnshire what corn and victuals were without licence of the king taken out of the realm, to what parts, by whom, for what cause and pretext, and how, the quantity and quality thereof, their price and value, and all other the circumstances; as that commission was not delivered to them, but was cancelled in chancery, and by other letters patent of 13 October following, the king appointed John Orwelle and others so to do.

Writ of supersedeas in respect of their demand against James de Boughay, tenant of certain lands which were of John de Verdoun, and against Elizabeth his wife, to deliver at the exchequer estreats of fines, issues, amercements and chattels forfeited before the said John and other the guardians of the peace and justices of oyer and terminer in Staffordshire, and order to discharge them, proceeding nevertheless against others who did meddle therein; as the said James has made oath in chancery that that commission was never delivered to the said James in his life time, neither did he meddle in aught therein contained, nor did estreats of any sessions come to his hands.

Norhampton, Nicholas Norfolke of Naburne, William Rosselyn of Cottenays and John Daunay of Escrike. Charter indented quadripartite of her estate in all her lands, rents, services, woods, moors, fisheries, turbaries etc., and all her reversions in Escrik, Camylsforde and Carleton by Snayth co. York; and gift to them and Nicholas Rosselyn, brother of the said William, their heirs and assigns, of all her lands etc. and reversions within the soke of Snayth or elsewhere in Yorkshire by inheritance after her father's death or otherwise, upon condition that they shall when required, after being thereof peaceably seised by force of this charter and indenture and by attornment of tenants, make thereof a feoffment to her and to the heirs male of Thomas Daunay sometime her husband of her begotten, with remainder to his right heirs by her, remainder to the right heirs of Joan de Neuton her mother; one part at one end to remain with Master John and Nicholas Norfokke, another at the other end with the said William, Nicholas Rosselyn and John Daunay, a third being one of the midmost with the said Elizabeth, and the fourth with the heirs of Thomas. Charter and indenture tripartite, made at York 1 February 14 Richard II between Master John de Newton rector of Tichemersch co. Northampton, Nicholas de Northfolke of Naburne, William Rosselyn of Cottenays, Nicholas Rosselyn and John Daunay of Escrike of the one part and Elizabeth Daunay of Escrike daughter and heir of John de Neuton of Snayth of the other part, witnessing their demise and grant to her for life of all lands etc., in Escrike, Camelesforde and Carleton by Snayth which they had by her feoffment, and of all lands etc. within the soke of Snayth or elsewhere in Yorkshire, which they had by her feoffment, to her and the heirs male of Thomas Daunay sometime her husband of her begotten, with remainder to the right heirs of their bodies, remainder to the right heirs of Joan de Neuton her mother; and covenant by the said Elizabeth that henceforward she shall have no title, claim or estate in the premises other than by these presents; one part to remain with the said Elizabeth, a second with the heirs of the said Thomas, and the third, namely the foot, with the said Master John, Nicholas, William, Nicholas and John Daunay. Elizabeth who was wife of Thomas Daunay of Escrike to John Daunay her son, his heirs and assigns. Charter of quitclaim of all action for dower in the lands etc. in Huntington by Ercewyke, the city and suburbs of York, so that during these next four years, she nor any other in her name may make any claim upon the same or any parcel thereof, unless she shall pay the debt and covenant contained in a bond jointly given by her and Nicholas Norffolke and the said John to Henry de Melton of Hoton Wandeslay, and he shall thereof discharge the said Nicholas and John. Writ of supersedeas in favour of John Seton 'sherman,' whom he was ordered by William Brenchele and his fellows justices of the peace in Surrey to attach so as to have him before them at Guldeforde on Monday before Palm Sunday; and order by mainprise of Thomas Barsham, William Horyngton and Richard Holbeche, all of London, to set him free, if taken at suit of the king and John Wolverton for trespass and contempt contrary to the statute of labourers.

Indenture of assignment and livery of dower to Elizabeth who was wife of Thomas de Clifforde knight, made 24 April 15 Richard II by Hugh de Arderne escheator in Yorkshire in presence of John de Crakenthorp and Gilbert Dautry, attorneys of Queen Anne who by grant of the king has the wardship of all lands of the deceased until the lawful age of his heir; namely two thirds of a meadow called 'Walterwro' with ingress and egress, a park called the 'Oldeparke' enclosed, a chace called 'Berdenforest' with fourteen tenements therein for cowbyres, a water corn mill and two thirds of the agistment therein and in the outwood called 'Skyrakes,' a lodge in a wood called Crokerys, and 4 acres of meadow in Holme mead called 'Brodengs' on the south side which the tenants of the lodge used to hold, with ingress and egress, a tenement in 'Elyshawe' wood late in the tenure of Henry de Carlele, and the closes called Wormeberghe and Oxfalle with the pasture of 'Elyshawe' heads, 24 bovates of land in Skybedoun, 20s. 6d. of rent of divers freeholders in Bradeleigh, Paytbrigge, Lobbewythe, Skybedoun, Hertlyngton, Appletrewyke, Doxhulle and Sutton and a rent of two capons set in money at Whitsuntide and Martinmas, a third part of two thirds of the whole profit of all courts of the lordship of Skypton called the 'knythecourtz' and the 'burghcourtes' over and above ministers' fees and outgoings, a rent called 'wapentakes' yearly issuing from the knights' fees to her assigned in dower in chancery, common of pasture, turbary and fuel for her and her tenants of tenements above assigned to her in all places within the lordship of Skypton where tenants used to have it in times past, 'housbote' and 'haybote' in Crokerys and Caldre woods and all other places in that lordship for building, repair and maintenance of the tenements and park aforesaid by view of the foresters of the lordship: the escheator is sending the part in his hands into chancery for enrolment.
Indenture witnessing the assignment and livery of dower to (the said) Elizabeth, made 15 April 15 Richard II by Peter Tillioll escheator in Cumberland, Westmorland and Northumberland, in presence of John de Crakanthorp attorney of Queen Anne who has the wardship etc., namely the castle and manor of Burgh under Staynesmore, the lands, rents and services held in dower by Maud who was wife of Roger de Clifford excepted and those whereof Elizabeth was enfeoffed jointly with her husband, wood to be taken within Flakebrigge park by view of the foresters there for her and her tenants dwelling in the manor of Burgh for building their tenements there with ingress and egress, a third part of two thirds of the whole profit of the office of sheriff of Westmorland, and of a rent of oats issuing from the manor of Clifton co. Westmorland, a (like) part of the forest of Whynfell by bounds set by the escheator, and a (like) part of the manor of Skelton co. Cumberland.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 500l., made in chancery 24 October this year by Thomas Fairfax, William Darell, William Barker of Tadcastre and Richard Gyffoun of Yorkshire for William Malghom, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to William Etton of York, his men or servants.

Defeasance thereof, upon condition that they pay 200l. at two days named, or within a month after each.

To Thomas Etton clerk and John Mitford, collectors in the port of Newcastle upon Tyne of the customs and subsidies upon wool, hides and woolfells and of the subsidy of 12d. in the pound and 3s. upon every tun of wine. Order to overlook the lading and unlading of goods and merchandise in places between the sea and the said port, and to cause proclamation to be made that no merchant native or alien shall upon any pretence, under pain of forfeiting the same, lade or unlade goods save at the quay of the port or in other open and not privy places of the town; as it has come to the ears of the king and council that, scheming to defraud the king of those customs and subsidies, certain merchants exporting and importing goods have been used no small time and yet cease not to lade and unlade them secretly in the places aforesaid without the presence or knowledge of any of the customers, and the king's will is to save him harmless from their scheme of deception.
