Westminster.
To Richard Clifford the king's clerk keeper of the great wardrobe. Order to pay to Marmaduke de Kirkeby now parson of St. Andrew Bernard Castell London 40s. a year, so long as the said Richard shall stand in office and the said Marmaduke be parson there; as by letters patent, confirmed by the king on 3 March 1 Richard II, the late king of his alms granted to Thomas de Appelby late parson and to his successors, in recompense for tithes, oblations and other profits etc. which the parsons used yearly to take of the parishioners before John de Beauchamp of Warrewyke knight deceased acquired certain tenements in the parish wherein great number of them dwelt, caused the same to be cast down and an inn to be new built for his dwelling, the late king having after acquired the site and inn of the said John's executors, 40s. a year to be taken of the said site and inn by the hands of the keeper of the great wardrobe and of other the tenants or occupiers of the same whatsoever.
