as his petition shews that 9l. 10s. 3d. a year is current in demand
in the exchequer against William Meynell knight deceased as the
extent of the wardship, to the said William committed by mainprise of the said Peter, John Fynderne, the petitioner by name of
John Littelbury of Lincolnshire knight, and William Lisle, of the
lands of Hugh Meynell knight deceased in Derbyshire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Leycestershire which were in the late
king's hand by death of Joan mother of the said William, who
held the same as jointly enfeoffed with Richard Meynell knight
her husband, and by reason of the nonage of Thomasia one of the
daughters and heirs of Ralph son of the said Hugh and of Margery
the other daughter and heir of the said Hugh (sic), praying to be

proclamation to be made, that all aliens with the exceptions
hereinafter mentioned shall under pain of forfeiture quit the
realm before the quinzaine of St. John Baptist next, or else shall
before that date be before the king and council at Westminster
to make fine, or to shew the council their age and infirmity; as it
is agreed and ordered in this parliament for the common weal, with
assent of the lords spiritual and temporal upon petition of the commons, that all aliens not lieges shall avoid the realm or make fine to
the king, except those who before the first day of the parliament
are made denizens, are instituted and inducted in benefices, 'Duchemen' who are knights and esquires and their servants, those in the
service of the king and of other lords, those previously excepted
by parliament, and such as are infirm by reason of age, and that
at the discretion of the council, with proviso that Bretons and
others specified upon a roll for avoidance of the realm and
proclaimed be not admitted to fine for abiding in England; and the
king's will is that the ordinance shall take effect. |

certain treasons against them declared in this parliament, under
pain of conviction for the same, certifying in chancery the dates
and places of such proclamation; as order is made in this parliament by the lords temporal, with advice and assent of the king,
that proclamation be made throughout the realm for the said
Henry and Thomas, and that if they shall appear they shall be
put in custody until they may come before the king and the said
lords to answer as aforesaid, and in case they shall not appear
they shall be deemed convicted of the said treasons. |
