to give Richard de Bello Campo now earl of Warrewyk seisin
of the manor of Kybworth co. Leycester and the manor of
Lodbrokes in Thoneworth co. Warrewyke, the other manors,
knights' fees and advowsons hereinafter mentioned; as it is
found by inquisitions, taken before the escheator, that by fine
levied in the late king's court with his licence Margaret who
was wife of Thomas de Bello Campo earl of Warrewyk at her
death was seised in fee tail of the manor of Kybworth by grant
of John Say and others to the earl and her and to the heirs of
their bodies, and of the manor of Lodbroke by like gift of Thomas
Aldebury clerk, that the said Richard, who is of full age, is their
son and heir, that she held in dower of his heritage in Warwickshire the manors of Berkeswelle and Lyghthurne, one knight's
fee in Amynton held by William de Clynton knight, the moiety
of one knight's fee in Moxhulle held by Ellen de Arderne, the
fourth part of one knight's fee in Wygynshulle held by the heir
of Ralph de Wylyngton, the fourth part of one knight's fee in
Whytacre held by the heir of John Pecche, the moiety of
one knight's fee in Ilmedoun likewise held by the said heir,
one knight's fee in Wetyngton held by William lord of
Asteley, the moiety of one knight's fee in Scheldoun held

by the prior of Kylyngworth, one knight's fee in Lyllynton
held by the said prior, the advowsons of the churches of
Lyghthurne and Berkeswelle, of the prebends held by Robert
Mile and Thomas Knyght clerks respectively in the collegiate
church of Warrewyk, namely to present every third turn, of the
prebend held by Richard Bromley in the said church every third
turn, of the hospital of St. Michael Warrewyk, and of the free
chapel within Weggenoke park called 'Coukowechurche,' and that
the manor of Lodbroke is held of the king as of the honour
of Peverel, the manor of Kybworth in chief by the service of being
pantler on the king's coronation day and the queen's, and the
manors of Berkeswelle and Lyghthurne in chief by knight service;
and the king has taken the now earl's homage and fealty for
the lands of his father. |

mutandis, concerning Elmeley castle, the manors of 'Elmeley
castelle,' Wadebarough, Stoulton, and Salewarp, and the manor
of Cridesho as member and parcel of the said castle and manor,
fourteen saltworks and 20 marks of rent in Wyche held by gift
of Hugh de Segrave and others, fourteen other saltworks in
Wyche and Uppewiche and the bullary of fourteen leads of
brine in Wyche situate in Uppewyche by gift of Edmund Brugge
and others, the manors of Beoley, Grafton, Symondescrombe
and Ribbesforde, with Roke and Lyndoun members of Ribbesforde, eight messuages, twelve cottages and 10l. of rent in the
city of Worcester by gift of William Cokesey and others to the
said earl and Margaret and to the heirs of their bodies, and the
manors of Yerdeley, Shraueley and Haddesore, a wood called
'Ouewode' in Haddesore, one knight's fee in Croule held by
the preceptor of St. Wolstan Worcester and John Froxmere,
one knight's fee in Forfelde held by the heir of Thomas Botiller
of Suydeley knight, the moiety of one knight's fee in Little
Cuyr held by Roger le Mortymer, one knight's fee in Rydmarley
Olyver held by Hugh Cheyne knight and John Meysy, the moiety
of one knight's fee in Warnesley held by the heir of Robert de
Clare, the moiety of one knight's fee in Berewe held by the heir
of William de Berewe, the fourth part of one knight's fee in

with the hundreds of Waylounde and Grymeshowe held by
fine of 6 Richard II levied in the late king's court with his licence,
by grant of John Say and others, and the manor of 'Panworthhalle' in Asschele by gift of Thomas Aldebury clerk to the said
earl and Margaret and to the heirs of their bodies, and the advowson of Shouldham priory held in dower; as it is found that the
said manors and hundreds are held in chief by knight service,
the manor of 'Panworthhalle' of others than the king. |

formerly held by Edmund Thorp knight in right of his wife, and
the advowson of Kertlynge church, all held in dower; as it is
found that the said manor and rent are held in chief. |

the pesage in the town of Suthampton, held of the king by grand

held by the said Margaret in fee tail by gift of Edmund de Brygge
and others to the late earl and her and to the heirs of their bodies,
and the manor of Lydeney by her held in dower; as it is found
that both are held of others than the king. |

concerning the manor and advowson of Drayton Basset and
10 marks of rent in Thamworth otherwise Tamworth thereto
pertaining, and the advowson of a chantry of five chaplains to
celebrate in the church of Drayton Basset for the soul of Ralph
Basset of Drayton and his heirs, eight tofts, two carucates of
land and 40 acres of wood called 'Jonesclos' in Drayton Basset
sometime of John atte Lee, a messuage there and a messuage in
Thamworth, both sometime of Margery de Boterye, ten cottages
in Fareslegh sometime of Ralph Smyth, held by grant of Thomas
de Aldebury clerk to the late earl and Margaret and to the heirs
of their bodies by fine levied in the king's court, a third part of
the manor of Walshale, a piece of land, wood and pasture in
Walshale called 'Cleyhunger' with an enclosure round about
it sometime of William Coleson, and a piece of land there called
the 'Conynger' held in dower; as it is found that the said
advowsons, tenements and rent in Drayton etc. are parcel of
that manor, which is held of the heir of Ralph Basset of Weldoun
as of his manor of Weldoun, and that the said third part with
the other two thirds is held of the king at fee farm, rendering
4l. a year. |

escheator therein. Like order, mutatis mutandis, concerning an
inn in 'Olddeneslane' with six houses and sixteen shops, and
a toft in the parish of St. Sepulchre by Newegate London sometime in the tenure of Stephen Sutton yeoman of the late earl's
chamber, held by gift of Hugh Segrave knight and others to the
late earl and Margaret and to the heirs of their bodies; as it is
found that the same are held of the king in free burgage even
as all the city of London. |

concerning a third part of the manor of 'Southtauton,' held by
the said Margaret in dower of the heritage of the now earl; as

Ports, or to his lieutenant. Order upon petition of John
Domyngus merchant of Portugal and John Franciscus master of
a ship called 'la Seynte Marie' of Oporto, before Wednesday next
to certify in chancery the manner and cause of his prohibition,
knowing that if he shall make default in such certificate the king
will further deal according to law and the custom of the realm
for execution of the condemnation hereinafter mentioned; as
the petitioners have shewn that in the court of Sandewich before
the mayor they impleaded Roger Hood merchant of Lenne
according to the custom of the town concerning certain covenants,
cognisance whereof pertains and ought to pertain to the said
court, that he was condemned in certain sums of money, but
that the constable and warden has inhibited the mayor from
executing that condemnation, alleging that the contract was
made at sea, which it was not, and that therefore the cognisance
thereof ought to pertain to him as admiral of the said ports,

Mussenden, son and heir of Edmund Mussenden knight, seisin
of his father's lands; as he has proved his age before John
Boys escheator in Bukinghamshire, and for one mark paid in
the hanaper the king has respited his homage until Midsummer
next, having commanded the abbot of Mussenden to take his
fealty. |
