Aug. 3.
Westminster.
To the sheriffs of London. Writ of supersedeas, and order by mainprise of William Busshe 'coryour,' John Toche 'smyth,' John Depeden 'coryour' and Edmund Hert 'bruwer,' all of London, to set free Nicholas West carpenter and Richard Yonge, if taken at suit of William Bolton for trespass.
Memorandum of an undertaking under a pain of 100 marks, made in chancery 4 August this year by John Martyn, that he shall do or procure no hurt or harm to any of the people.
Also of a like undertaking, mutatis mutandis, made by William Aleyn.

To the sheriff of Surrey. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of taking of John Rolfe any security for keeping the peace at suit of William Capper, and order by mainprise of Robert Everarde 'iremonger,' Thomas Hervy 'bocher,' John Mersshe 'taverner,' all of Southwerke, and William Hethe of Surrey to set him free if taken.

To the sheriffs of London. Order upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made of the king's will and intent; as upon information that the constable's representative and the fellowship of the staple of Calais issued an ordinance that no new wool should be therein sold until the old wool heretofore brought thither be sold, which will tend not only to prejudice of the king and diminution of his customs but to damage of divers merchants of England flocking thither, the king ordered Richard Whityngton mayor of the staple to desist from executing the same, not suffering it to be put in execution so far as in him lay; for the king's will and intent is that such merchants may as in times past without disturbance sell their wool, new and old, that ordinance notwithstanding, and that this be brought to the knowledge of the merchants and others concerned. To the sheriffs of London. Order upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made and notice given of an agreement or ordinance, the tenor whereof the king is sending enclosed, made by the council 8 March last by assent of the lords spiritual and temporal in the said council. By C.
Like writ to Edmund earl of Kent the king's admiral, to cause proclamation to be made in ports etc.

Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of taking of William Toche, Lewis le Molle, Ralph Spaldyng, Richard Reestmaker, Lettice his wife, John Reestmaker and John Est any security for keeping the peace; as John Barker 'fuller,' Richard Ludlowe 'taillour,' both of Suthwerke, John Neve 'fleccher' and Nicholas Bury 'sporyer,' both of London, have mainperned for them in chancery that they shall do or procure no hurt or harm to John Thoresley.

Writ of supersedeas in respect of taking of John Robert chaplain any security for keeping the peace at suit of Richard Angate clerk, and order by mainprise of John Coke of Sullyhulle, William Archer, both of Warwickshire, Richard Dyer of Salop and Richard de Brycheforde of Notynghamshire to set him free, if taken.

Gravesend.
To Henry Lescrope, lately appointed with William Gascoigne, Robert Tirwhit, Thomas Rokeby, John Routh and John Ingelande, for particular causes laid before the king and council, to arrest Gerard Usflete wherever found and bring him before the king and council in chancery to answer touching what shall be laid against him. Writ of supersedeas; as the said Gerard has appeared there of his own free will, and has made full excuse touching all things laid against him. The king has given like command to each of the commissioners.
