Feb. 1.
Westminster.
To the constable of the Tower of London or his lieutenant. Order to have brother John Manley, John Byrch and Benedict Brent clerks, who by command of the king are imprisoned in the Tower, before the king in person on Wednesday next. By K.
Feb. 3.
Westminster.
To the sheriff of Norhampton. Order to put Michael de la Pole now earl of Suffolk again in possession of 47l. 13s. 4d. a year, with the arrears thereof; as in a cause in chancery between the said earl, being the eldest son of Michael de la Pole late earl of Suffolk, and Queen Joan concerning that sum to be taken of a farm of 120 marks a year issuing from the issues and profits of Rokyngham castle and from the stewardship of the forests and hundred between the bridges of Oxford and Stamforde by the hands of the keepers, farmers or receivers thereof for the time being, by advice of the justices, serjeants at law and others of the council learned in the law it was determined that the now earl shall be put again in possession thereof, with the arrears to him due, taking the same as he used to do before the king's grant thereof to the queen, and that she shall yearly pay the same to him during the life of Isabel countess of Suffolk.

To the sheriff of York for the time being. Order of the issues of that county of pay to John Mosdale 25 marks a year, to him granted by letters patent of the late king, confirmed by the king 10 November 1 Henry IV, and the arrears for Michaelmas term last.

To the mayor of Bordeaux. Order to seize 46 pipes of woad of John Roweland of Toulouse merchant, the king's enemy of the power of France, which therefore pertain to the king as forfeit, and to safe keep them until further order without eloigning the same, certifying the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer with all speed when he has executed this command, to the end that the mayor may have the woad, or the value thereof, in part payment of a greater sum to him due from the king for keeping of Fronsak castle; as the king is informed by the treasurer and the barons that the woad is in the keeping of Andrew Bydawe of Bordeaux, and his will is to save himself harmless.

To the escheator in Norffolk. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Dennevere called 'Esthalle' and a mediety of the advowson of the church of the Virgin Mary Dennevere, delivering to Margery late the wife of Adam de Clyfton knight any issues thereof taken; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by Edmund Wynter late escheator, that at his death the said Adam held the same as jointly enfeoffed with her, by gift of John de Merle and Henry de Bretoun to them and the heirs of their bodies, and that they are held of another than the king.

To the sheriff of Bedford and Bukingham for the time being. Order of the issues and profits of those counties to pay to Henry Brounflete esquire of the king's chamber 10l. a year for life; as Richard Pountfreyt, who by grant of the late king, confirmed by the king, has for life 10l. a year of the fee farm of the town of Bedforde by the hands of the bailiffs for the time being, and other 10l. a year of the issues and profits aforesaid, is of a mind to demise his estate in those annuities, to the end that the king shall grant them to the said Henry; and for his good service, and because the said Richard has made oath in chancery that the letters of the late king are accidentally lost, and in case they shall be found to give them up there to be cancelled, and has given up the king's confirmation, the king has granted the same to the said Henry.

To the constable of the Tower of London or his lieutenant. Order to receive John Rogger of Bridport from one who shall deliver him on behalf of the king, and to keep him in custody in the Tower until further order. By. K.

Order to the sheriff of Suthampton for election of a coroner instead of Thomas Colyngton, who is insufficiently qualified.
Feb. 6.

Like order, mutatis mutandis to the sheriff of Gloucestor for election of a verderer in the forest of Deene instead of Richard Foxley, who is dead.
Like order, mutatis mutandis, in regard to Walter Mullewarde.
Like order mutatis mutandis, to the sheriff of Kent for election of a coroner instead of Philip Kyngesforde, who is insufficiently qualified.
