The King's Debts.

Sir Herbert Crofts returneth in the Bill for the Payment of the King's Debts. - Himself added: Keepeth the Bill. - Monday.

Holdich.

Holdich: - Upon Tuesday next, Temple.

Selling Fruit on Sunday.

2. Reading: - B. To restrain the Fruiterers of London from going abroad to sell their Fruit upon the Sabaoth Day, &c. - Upon the Question, rejected.

Bringing Water to London.

3. Reading : - Act for Explanation of Statute, made in the 3d Year of the Reign of King James, intituled, An Act for the Bringing of a fresh Stream of running Water to the North Parts of the City of London: - Upon the Question, passed.

Sir Wm. Cook served with a Subpoena. The Parties to be sent for. Tho. Tyler the Plaintiff.

Hearing Counsel.

Question, Whether the Counsel in the Affirmative shall be heard, without the Counsel on the other Part. - Resolved, after some Dispute, that they shall be heard.

Mr. Gerrard openeth the Parts of the Bill, and urgeth - Bill should have been read before the Counsel; but was not. -

3. Reading: - Act for the Confirmation of certain Lands to the College of All-soules, and of other Lands to Sir Wm. Smyth Knight.

Sir John Townsend, - against it, with Length of Speech; Sir Wm. Strowd, contra; Mr. Martin, Mr. Hoskins, pro Billa ; Sir Rob. Wingfield, pro; Mr. Brook, for the Point in Law.

A Proviso to the said Bill, tendered by Sir Wm. Strowd, twice read. Sir Wm. Strowd speaketh to the Proviso ; but, upon the Question, rejected.

Sir Roger Owen, Mr. Overberry, to be added to the Committee of Sir Wm. Smyth.

To be re-committed, and considered of To-morrow Morning.

Privilege. - Subpoenaing Member.

Edw. Throckmorton examined, Servant to Tho. Throckmorton, who served a Subpoena upon Sir Oliver Cromwell: - Committed till To-morrow. -

He knew Sir Oliver Cromwell to be of the House ; he knew not it was an Offence ; therefore only committed till To-morrow. -

Catesbye's Man.

Ditto.

Sir Henry Poole moveth, that a Writ being served upon Sir Edm. Ludlowe, out of Star-chamber, Privilege might be granted.

It appeared to be at the Suit of Mr. Attorney-general, and so the King's Suit. Thought fit to refer it to the Committees for Returns and Privileges, to consider, and report, whether Privilege or no.

Person sent for.

John Smyth, of Starson, in the County of Norfolk, Yeoman, to be sent for, by Warrant, for serving a Subpoena upon Mr. Phillip Gawdye. A Warrant to be made.
