To the abbot de Benedictione dei, alias de Kylbegryn (sic), in the diocese of Meath. Mandate, as below. The pope has been informed by John Osluoid, priest, of the diocese of Meath, that John Fytzeuone (recte Fytzeuene), perpetual vicar of the parish church of Castletown (Villecastri) de Delwyn, in the said diocese, a notorious fornicator, has dilapidated and converted to his own evil uses a number of the precious goods of the said church, and has committed perjury. The pope therefore hereby orders the above abbot, if Osluoid will accuse the said Fitzeuone before him, to summon Fitzeuone and others concerned, and if he find the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said vicarage, value not exceeding 40 marks sterling, to Osluoid. To the bishop of Massa [Maritima], the abbot of Holyrood [Edinburgh], and the dean of Dumbar, in the diocese of St. Andrews. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of David Swinton, priest, of the diocese of St. Andrews, contained that on the voidance of a perpetual chaplaincy in the church of the place of Corstorphyn, in the said diocese, which chaplaincy is of the patronage of the lord of the same place according to a certain turn, by the death of William Forman, Alexander Forstarii, layman, nobleman, lord of the said place, patron of the said chaplaincy, presented the said David to Patrick, bishop of St. Andrews. The pope, having learned that the said chaplaincy is still void as above, (fn. 2) hereby orders the above three to collate and assign it, without cure and endowed with the mesne fruits of the places of Haulton and Dalmahowe, belonging to the said church, and value not exceeding 8l. sterling, to David.
