Mandate to collate and assign to Odo Obecayn, clerk, of the diocese of Kildare, who has had papal dispensation, as the son of a priest and an unmarried woman, to be promoted to all holy orders and hold a benefice even with cure, the rectory, value not exceeding 12 marks, of Lea (Lega), Kildare, of lay patronage, void by the death of Cornelius Omurchuan; although John Blacg, priest, of the said diocese, who is to be removed, unduly detains it. Mandate—in pursuance of other letters by which the pope has ordered them, if they find, as he has recently heard, that John Tathe, rector of Castel Ricard in the diocese of Meath, of lay patronage, does not understand well nor speak intelligibly the language (ydioma) commonly spoken by the greater part of the parishioners, to deprive him—in the event of such deprivation to collate and assign the said rectory, value not exceeding 20 marks, to Donald Magluay, priest, of the said diocese; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to him of the parish church, value not exceeding 80 marks, of Rathwere in the said diocese, possession of which he has not yet got, and of one, two, three, four or more benefices with or without cure in the common or several gift of the bishop of Meath, the abbot and convent of St. Thomas the Martyr's by Dublin, and the priors and convents of (de) Lantony Primi in Wales and Lantony Secundi by Gloucester. Donald is hereby dispensed to hold for life Castel Ricard with Rathwere, and to resign both simply (simul for simpliciter, as on f. 202) or for exchange [as often as he pleases, from f. 202] for, and to hold for life, two similar or dissimilar incompatible benefices, even if parish churches, or elective dignities, major or principal respectively, personatus or offices with or without cure in metropolitan, cathedral or collegiate churches, and even if in the city or diocese of Meath. Mandate to erect into a perpetual benefice without cure, and to collate and assign as such to David Offarchellaich, deacon, of the diocese of Kilmore, the rectories or tithes, void in a manner unknown, and value not exceeding 20 marks, belonging in part to the rectors of the below named churches or townlands—the Benedictine prior and convent of the priory of the house of St. Feighin (Fechini), Fowr, in the diocese of Meath, who have from time immemorial unduly detained them, being removed—of the townlands of Tulchaymuynd, Trasna, Thomnachiofynd, Nascarna, belonging to the parish of Teallachgervech, and of a moiety of the townland of Gillivltani and of a moiety of the townland in Doirfeoir Cruachan and of the townlands of Macgyllsennan and Lachaleamcha, situate in the parishes of the parish churches of SS. Bridget and Fynchilla, Dysertfynchill, St. Bridget, Learach and St. Damnada, Leamach (Cum itaque, sicut accepimus, rectorie seu decime nonnullarum videlicet T.T.T.N. plebis de T. villatarum et medietates (sic) villate G. et mediates (sic) villate in D.C. et M. et L. villatarum in sanctarum Brigide et Fynchille de D. et Brigide de L. et Damnade de L. parochialium ecclesiarum parochiis dicte [Triburnensis] diocesis situatarum, que ad rectores dictarum ecclesiarum seu villatarum pro parte pertinere dinoscuntur, vacaverint et vacent…); notwithstanding that the pope has recently [below f. 192] ordered provision to be made to him of the then void vicarage of Druymleachan, value not exceeding 7 marks, and of one, two or three benefices, even if one or two of them have cure, in the gift of the said bishop [of Kilmore]. Mandate to collate and assign to Thomas Magluay, clerk, of the diocese of Meath, son of Donald Magluay, if found fit after the usual examination in Latin, the rectory, value not exceeding 5 marks, of Moymora, in the said diocese, void at the apostolic see and reserved, by the resignation freely made this day to the pope by the said Donald; notwithstanding that Thomas is the son of an unmarried man and an unmarried woman, on account of which he is hereby dispensed to receive and hold the said rectory, and to be promoted by any catholic bishop to all holy orders. Mandate to collate and assign to Nicholas Oconyll, canon of Cloyne, the perpetual vicarages, value not exceeding 4 marks, of the united parish churches of Clo[n]myn (also written Clonen) and Roskyn (also written Roschyn), in the said diocese of Cloyne, void because Maurice Ocuyllan, clerk, of the said diocese, held them for a year and more, as well as the perpetual vicarage of Rathlorn, in the same diocese, without having himself ordained priest and without dispensation; notwithstanding that Nicholas holds the canonry and prebend of Inskarech in Cloyne, and the perpetual vicarage, annexed thereto, of Addirpon in the said diocese, the value of all which does not exceed 2 marks, and that the pope has lately ordered provision to be made to him of canonries with expectation of prebends of the churches, canonically united (sic), of Cork and Ardfert [see p. 100]. Mandate to collate and assign to Thady (Thatianus) Honoray, clerk, of the diocese of Tuam, the rectory, value not exceeding 8 marks, of Drumchalray in the said diocese, so long void—because Malachy Okeallayd, who is to be removed, has held it for a year and more without having himself ordained priest and without obtaining dispensation— that by the Lateran statutes it has lapsed to the apostolic see; notwithstanding that Thady holds the perpetual vicarage, value not exceeding 4 marks, in the said rectory of Drumchalray, which also has cure of souls and which, upon obtaining the rectory, he is to resign. Mandate, motu proprio, to collate and assign to Donald Magluay, priest, of the diocese of Meath, the parish church of St. Mary, Lochseudyle in that diocese, value not exceeding 50 marks, void by the death of John Okahasay; notwithstanding that the pope has recently ordered provision to be made to Donald of one, two, three, four or more benefices, etc. as above f. 107, and of the parish churches of Rathwere and Castel Ricard (ibid.), and has dispensed him to hold and exchange both of them, as correctedabove, ibid. (here without mention of the clauses even if etc.) He is hereby dispensed to hold Lochseudyle for ten years together with Rathwere and Castel Ricard or other incompatible benefice, and to exchange meanwhile Lochseudyle, Rathwere or Castel Ricard for another compatible benefice or benefices. Further, to end that his letters may obtain their full effect, the pope declares, also motu proprio, that his intention has been and is to grant this day the said church [of Lochseudyle] to Donald alone and to no other, and that if it be found that he has on this or other day made a similar grant to another or others, such grant or grants shall be null and void.
