Motu proprio acquittance and discharge of the heirs and executors of the late Vincent Clementis, canon of Valenza, collector of the Camera in England, as well as Bonaffanatus Berengarii, layman, of Valenza, and other proctors of the said Vincent, who have been found indebted to the said Camera in an amount not exceeding 1,000 gold ducats of the Camera. To the bishop, the chancellor, and the precentor of Killaloe (Laonien.). Mandate, as below. The monastery of St. John Baptist by (juxta) le Naenach, O.S.A., in the diocese of Killaloe, having become void by the resignation of Maurice Ykonedyg (recte Okynedyg) (fn. 2) to the ordinary, although Odo Okeruill, priest, had unlawfully detained possession for between one and three years, and was still detaining it, in virtue of surreptitious papal letters in which he had alleged that the value did not exceed 50 marks sterling, whereas it does not exceed 80, the present pope ordered Maurice Oglesayn, then a clerk, of the said diocese, to be received as a canon of the said monastery and his profession to be admitted, and collation and provision of the priory to be thereafter made to him, the said Odo being summoned and others concerned. Subsequently it was set forth to the pope by Odo that provision of the priory was duly made to him by papal authority, on its voidance by the deprivation, made by the same authority, of the said Maurice Okynedig by Roderick, prior of Fons Vivus de Lotra in the said diocese, and Thady Olachnayn and William Oduygin, canons of Killaloe; and that after he had held it in virtue thereof for more than a year, the said Maurice Oglesayn suggested to the pope that it was void by the said resignation, and that Odo was unduly detaining it, wherefore the pope ordered collation and provision to be made to Oglesayn, etc., as above. (fn. 3) At the latter's appeal, the pope hereby orders the above three to summon Odo and others concerned, hear and decide the appeal cause and that of the principal matter, without appeal, causing their decision to be observed by ecclesiastical censure; and if as a result thereof they find that neither Oglesayn nor Odo has any right, to collate and assign the said priory, conventual and value not exceeding 90 marks sterling, to Oglesayn. To the abbot of Jerpoint (de Jeriponte), and the priors of Fertkerach and Hacmakarthy, in the diocese of Ossory. Mandate to collate and assign to Thomas Cantuuell, priest, of the diocese of Ossory (who alleges that he is by both parents of noble birth, and that John Strong, priest, has detained the deanery of Ossory for between sixteen and eighteen years, under pretext of an election by the chapter) the said deanery, a major (fn. 4) dignity, value not exceeding 60 marks sterling, void and ipso facto reserved (under the pope's reservation of all major dignities) by the death of Thomas Archer without the Roman court; the said John being removed. Thomas is dispensed to hold therewith for life any other benefice, or if he resign it any two benefices, with cure or otherwise incompatible, and to resign or exchange them, etc. Nobilitas generis, vite etc. (In the margin: Mar.)
