1480[–1]. Id. Feb. (13 Feb.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 29r.)	To the bishop of Orte, and the dean and the official of Cashel. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of Robert Hakell (recte Hakett (fn. 1) ), clerk, of the diocese of Cashel, contained that on the voidance of the archdeaconry of Cashel by the death of James Canthuel without the Roman court he (in virtue of letters of the present pope, ordering provision to be made to him of a benefice with or without cure, even if a major or principal dignity etc. in the gift of the archbishop and dean etc. and chapter etc. of Cashel) got provision made to him of the said archdeaconry, and obtained possession; that, fearing molestation by John Brenach, priest, to whom provision had been made by papal authority, he paid him a sum of money in order that he should give up all right, which he did, whereupon Robert obtained possession, and has held it for about a year. At Robert's said petition, which added that it is alleged that the value of the said archdeaconry is more than was stated in the said letters, etc., the pope hereby orders the above three to absolve him, who is of noble birth, from simony and excommunication etc. incurred therefor, enjoining penance, dispense him on account of irregularity, and rehabilitate him, and thereupon to collate and assign to him the said archdeaconry, a non-major non-elective dignity with cure, value 35 marks sterling. He is hereby dispensed to hold it for life with a canonry and prebend of Lismore, value 8 marks sterling, provision of which was made to him by papal authority, and of which, inasmuch as he doubted the validity thereof, the pope has this day by other letters ordered provision to be made to him (below, f. 58v.) 1479. Prid. Non. Aug. (4 Aug.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 35v.)	To William [bishop] elect of Ardagh. Provision to him, who is abbot of St. Mary's de Lera alias de Granardo, O. Cist., in the diocese of Ardagh, of the church of Ardagh, void by the death of John without the Roman court, during whose lifetime it was specially reserved by the present pope; with faculty to be consecrated by any catholic bishop, etc.; and mandate hereby to the chapter and to the clergy and people of the city and diocese, and to the vassals of the said church. Apostolatus officium.

1480[–1]. Id. Feb. (13 Feb.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 58v.)	To the precentor of Cashel, and Adam Ohiffernayn and Denis Ohogayn, canons of the same. Mandate, as below. The pope lately, upon being informed by Robert Haket, (fn. 2) clerk, of the diocese of Cashel, that John Prindragras, a canon of Lismore and prebendary of Mortson, (fn. 2) had dilapidated the said canonry and prebend, and had committed perjury, ordered John Hedian, a canon of Emly, if the said Robert would accuse Prindragras before him, to summon Prindragras, and if he found the foregoing to be true, to deprive and remove him, and in that event to collate and assign the said canonry and prebend to Robert. Robert's recent petition contained that the said John Hedian deprived and removed Prindragras by a definitive sentence, and, notwithstanding his appeal to the apostolic see, proceeded to collate and assign the said canonry and prebend to Robert, who has held possession for about five years. The said petition adding that Prindragas (fn. 3) did not prosecute his appeal within the lawful time, that the said sentence has become a res judicata, and that it is alleged that the said collation and provision are without force, the pope hereby orders the above three to collate and assign the said canonry and prebend, value 8 marks sterling, to the said Robert, who is of noble and knightly birth, and to whom the pope has this day ordered provision to be made of the archdeaconry of Cashel (above, f. 29 r.). 13 Kal. April. (20 March.) St. Peter's, Rome. (f. 126r.)	To the dean of Emly and the precentor of Ossory. Mandate, as below. The recent petition of Thomas Purchel, scholar, of the diocese of Cashel, contained that from time immemorial the fruits etc. of the rectories of the parish churches (belonging to the monastery of St. Mary de Huena, O. Cist. in the diocese of Emly) of Durlus and Cyan and Raylta and Moyn and Galwoley, in the diocese of Cashel, have been let to divers persons, even laymen, for periods long or short, that the leases are injurious to the said rectories, and that the roofs and walls of the said churches are very ruinous, etc. The pope, therefore, hereby orders the above two to grant a lease for life of the said fruits etc. to the said Thomas, who is by both parents of noble birth.
