Vatican Regesta, Vol. DCXXXVIII.

Bullarum Lib. LXXXVIII. Tom. XCIII.

13 Sixtus IV.

1483.
17 Kal. Dec.
(15 Nov.)
St. Peter's, Rome.
(f. 132r.)
To the prior of Inyscronayn, O.S.A., in the diocese of Killaloe (Laonien.), and John son of Thady (fn. 1) Machonmara and Donatus Ograda, canons of Killaloe. Mandate, as below. The pope has learned that a canonry of Kilmacduagh (Duacen.) and the prebend of Kenmara therein, and also the rectory of Kiltolmos in the diocese of Kilmacduagh, of lay patronage, have been so long void that their collations have lapsed to the apostolic see, although Walter de Burgo, clerk, and Geoffrey (Kalfridus) Odonchew, (fn. 2) priest, have held possession of the fruits etc. of the said rectory for about eleven years, without any title. The pope, therefore, at the petition of Malachy Omuloni, clerk, of the diocese of Killaloe, hereby orders the above three to summon the said Walter and Geoffrey, and to unite the said rectory, with cure and value 12 marks sterling, to the said canonry and prebend, value 5 marks sterling, for the lifetime of the said Malachy, or for as long as he holds the latter, and moreover to collate and assign to him the said canonry and prebend and the said rectory, thus united, removing Walter and Geoffrey, etc. Vite etc. (In the margin: Novembris.) [5 pp.]
Prid. Non. Dec.
(4 Dec.)
St. Peter's, Rome.
(f. 152v.)
To Robert Proueyt, rector of St. Michael's, Reschmer, in the diocese of Norwich, I.U.B. Rehabilitation on account of his having obtained by canonical collation, when holding the said church, that of St. Michael's, Benacre, in the said diocese, and his having held the latter with the former, net values 10 marks sterling and 15 gold florins of the Camera, respectively, for between one and two years, without papal dispensation, as he does at present, taking the fruits of Reschiner only; with dispensation hereby to hold together for life the said two churches, without any new collation or provision, or any two other benefices with cure or otherwise incompatible, and to resign or exchange them, etc. Sedes apostolica. (In the margin: Decembris.) [22/3 pp.]
Ibid.
(f. 162r.)
To Richard Harman', a monk of St. Albans, O.S.B., in the diocese of Lincoln, immediately subject to the Roman church. Dispensation, as below. The present pope successively dispensed him (i) to receive and retain any benefice with or without cure wont to be held by secular clerks, even if a parish church etc., and to resign or exchange it, as often as he pleased, etc., in virtue of which he obtained by canonical collation the perpetual vicarage of Binhin (recte Binh[a]m) in the diocese of Norwich; (ii) to receive any other benefice with or without cure wont to be held by secular clerks, even if a parish church, etc., and to retain it in commendam with the said vicarage for life, and to resign or exchange it, as often as he pleased, and to wear over his Benedictine monk's habit a priestly cassock of a becoming colour. (fn. 3) The pope now dispenses him to hold with Binh(a)m (fn. 4) such additional benefice for life in titulum, instead of in commendam as above, or, without them, any two other benefices with or without cure, even if parish churches etc., and to resign or exchange them, etc., and to wear the said cassock even over the scapular of the said Order (fn. 3); with indult to take the fruits etc. of the said benefices for seven years, whilst studying letters at an university, and not to be bound meanwhile to reside in the said churches. Religionis zelus, vite etc. (In the margin: Decembris.) [6 pp.]
