To the official of Limerick. Mandate, as below. The rectory of Monachigaha alias Rathkahal in the diocese of Limerick, of lay patronage, is void because the pope dissolves by these presents the union which was lately made of it to the rectory of Mochownach in the same diocese for the lifetime of Maurice Offaelain, who (as contained in the recent petition of James, [son] of Philip de Geraldinis, dean of Cloyne) has won a definitive sentence before a certain judge-delegate in those parts about the said rectory of Momachygaha [sic] (fn. 2) against Maurice Odonortha, the detainer thereof, which sentence has become a res judicata, and who, without having had possession of it, has given his consent to the said dissolution. The pope, therefore, hereby orders the above official to collate and assign to the said James, who holds the deanery of Cloyne, a major elective dignity with cure, value 24 marks sterling, the said rectory of Monachigaha, of like value. The pope further dispenses him to receive and retain for life with the said rectory of Monachiga the said deanery, or with one of them one other benefice, or without them any two other benefices, with cure or otherwise incompatible, even if parish churches, etc. Dignum etc. (At the end: N. xxvi. To Adam Gordon, a canon of Brechin, M.A. Collation and provision to him, who is a priest and by both parents of noble birth, of a canonry of Brechin and the prebend called the pensionary prebend therein, (fn. 3) value 6l. sterling, void at the apostolic see, and therefore reserved to the pope, by the death there of William Oliphant; notwithstanding that he holds a canonry of Glasgow and the prebend of Tardios, and a canonry of Aberdeen and the prebend of Kynkell, value 16 and 80l. sterling respectively. To the abbot of St. Mary's, O'Dorney (de Kyrileyson), and the prior of Cueffalen [sic], in the diocese of Ardfert, and the official of Ardfert. Mandate to collate and assign to Maurice Fismaris [sic], clerk, of the diocese of Ardfert, who is by both parents of noble and baronial birth, the chancellorship of the church of Ardfert, a non-major dignity, value 7 marks sterling, void in a certain way, and a certain perpetual vicarage in the same [church of Ardfert], which has cure, value likewise 7 marks sterling, void because John Fismaris [sic], when holding it, obtained the deanery of the said church, a major dignity (fn. 4) with cure, of which benefices the said chancellorship has been so long void that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although John Ossey, priest, who is to be summoned and removed, has detained it for between five and six years, without any title or right. To the prior of Ballinskelligs (de Rupe sancti Michaelis) and the prior of Enisfalin, in the diocese of Ardfert, and M[a]urice Osulivan, a canon of Ardfert. Mandate to grant, as below, to [Charles (no surname, etc.), of the diocese of Clogher]. (fn. 5) The pope has learned that the chapel within the bounds of the place of Magruolan (?), (fn. 6) in the said [sic] diocese [of Clogher], has been so long void by the death extraR.c. of Donatus Oharnadi, vicar of the said chapel, that its collation has lapsed to the apostolic see, although John Oharnedi, priest, son of the said Donatus, has detained the said chapel for several years, without any dispensation, under pretext of a collation made to him by authority of the ordinary, from fear of whose power the said Charles cannot safely meet him within the city and diocese of Clogher. (fn. 7) The pope, therefore, hereby orders the above three to summon the said John and others concerned, and to grant the said chapel, with cure and value 2 marks sterling, to the said Charles in commendam ‖ for life, removing the said John and any other unlawful detainer.
