Privilege.

THO. Bray, Servant to Mr. Secretary Cooke, to have Privilege for his Goods, distrained by Sir Nich. Row. And a Warrant for those which distrained them.

Manwaring's Sermons.

Mr. Pymme reporteth from the grand Committee for Religion, the Business concerning Mr. Manwaring, for Matter contained in Two Sermons of his [a].

Upon Question, this Complaint, and these Crimes of Mr. Manwaring, to be transmitted to the Lords.

The former Sub-committee to draw up the Charge: And Mr. Pymme added to it; and Sir Ro. Pointz, and Sir Edw. Rodney, added to it: - To meet this Afternoon, at Four Clock, in the Duchy Chamber.

Mr. Secretary Cooke and Mr. Selden added to the Subcommittee.

King's Letter.

Resolved, A Message to be sent to the Lords presently.

Two Reasons to be used to the Lords, for not meddling with the Letter, upon the Conference : 1. Because not a parliamentary Way : 2ly, To avoid Loss of Time by the Dispute upon it.

Upon Question, whether these Two Reasons to be signified to the Lords, upon the Message, the Voice doubtful, though the Question twice put: The House divided:

Morgan's Estate.

Mr. Jones reporteth Mr. Morgan's, Bill. - That the Parties trusted, being heard at the Committee, consented to part with the Trust: That the State settled now, as before, with some Amendments. - Engrossetur.

Forfeitures.

L. 1a. An Act against Begging of Forfeitures before Attainder: Committed to all the Privy Council, Sir Edw. Coke, Sir Ro. Pye, Sir H. Martyn, Sir Tho. Fanshaw, Mr. Spencer, Sir Tho. Cannon, Sir Francis Barrington, Mr. Godfrey, Sir Tho. Grantham, Mr. Littleton, Sir Tho. Jermyn, Sir Tho. Ryddall, Sir Rich. Grasvenor, Sir Tho. Dacres, Sir Tho. Hele: And all, that will come, to have Voice : - To-morrow, Two Clock, in the Exchequer Chamber.

House to sit.

Mr. Secretary reporteth from the Lords, that they have appointed Two a Clock this Afternoon, in the Painted Chamber; and, for that many Occasions may fall out, to require it, their House hath resolved to sit this Afternoon, and desire we will do the like.

Ordered, The House shall sit this Afternoon; and all the Members thereof are, upon Question, ordered to attend the House.

The select Committee appointed to speak at the Conference, to deliver the Two Reasons of our not meddling with the Copy of his Majesty's Letter.

Privilege - Subpoenaing a Member.

LYSTER, called in to the Bar, kneeling, charged by Mr. Speaker, that he had served Sir A. Herrys, being a Member of this House, with a Subpoena into the Star-Chamber, contrary to the Privilege of the House ; affirmeth, he knew him not to be a Parliament-man.

King's Letter.

Sir Nath. Rich reporteth from the Conference, that the Lords began therein, with a Desire to this House, in regard of the great Affairs of the State (the Particulars whereof were then delivered) that this House would take Consideration of the King's Letter: Which being new Matter, thought fit to repair to the Houge.

Sir Edw. Coke reporteth from the Conference, that they delivered the Two Reasons to the Lords, of not meddling with the King's Letter.
