Westminster.
To the justice of Cestre or his representative, and to the chamberlain of Cestre. Writ of supersedeas in respect of the king's command to appoint assessors and collectors in Cheshire of a subsidy granted the king by the lords and commons of the realm in the last parliament; and order at the earliest day they may to assemble the lords and great men and the commons of the county at some convenient place, to lay before them as best they can the king's difficulty and need in regard to the defence of England, and to endeavour to procure them to grant a sufficient subsidy, certifying in chancery the amount thereof and the terms of payment; as in matters which concern the defence of the realm they are bound to lay to their hands with other lieges.

John Lyvet of Hoton Lyvet to Robert de Rockeley and Edmund del Clay, their heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty, under condition for defeasance in case he, his heirs etc. shall at Michaelmas 1381 or forty days before or after pay 20l. in presence of the clerk of the rolls of chancery for the time being, of the manor of Hoton Lyvet, and all lands, fees, advowsons etc. in Hoton aforesaid, which the said John lately gave them by charter under a like condition for payment of 22½ marks. Order to receive a mainprise of men holding lands in fee simple sufficient to answer for the issues and profits of the manor of Swerdes in Ireland from the day it was seized into the king's hand so long as the keeping thereof shall last, and to send the same into the chancery of England, with the mainpernors' names and the true value of their lands; as by advice of the council of England it is agreed that John de Colton dean of St. Patrick Dublin shall have the keeping thereof until a plea pending in the said chancery between the king and the archbishop of Dublin shall be debated.
