	Writ to Roger Loveday and Robert de Ludeham (missing). Writ of venire facias to the sheriff of Norfolk, 1 Aug. 8 Edw. I.
Norfolk.	Inq. (undated.) Pikenham. A messuage, 1 carucate land, and 4a. meadow, with homage of free tenants and villeins to the value of 100s. were held by the said Hugh of Isabel countess of Arundel by service of ¼ knight's fee, whose service with wardships, reliefs and marriages, was assigned to the said countess in dower after the death of Hugh Daubeney, earl of Arundel, her husband, who held it with his other fees of the king in chief. Middiltune. A messuage, 162½a. arable, 68½a, meadow, 8a. turbary, 37s. 7½d. rent, and 10½ measures of salt, to be received of the homages of freemen and villeins in Middiltune, Sudlenn', Herdwyc, Westwinz and Ringetune, were held by the said Nicholas of William son of William de Hewingham by service of a clove gillyflower yearly, and 20s. for the king's scutage, and the said William held the said tenement of Richard Curlu, and he of Mary de Nevile, and she of John of Brittany (Britanie) of the honour of Richemund, and he of the king in chief.

	Writ (missing).
York.	Inq. _ 8 Edw. I. (defective). The bailiwick of the Hay of Langwath was held by the said John on the day he died, but not the forestry between the waters [of Use and Derewent]; but he held the bailiwick of that forest before the forest was disafforested, by service of keeping the said bailiwick, and of the grant of [the ances]tors of King Edward that now is, and by hereditary right it ought to belong to David de Cawude as grandson (nepot') and heir of the said John. The bail[iwick of the Hay] of Langwath is in the hand of the archbishop, and was worth 5 marks yearly, and the bailiwick of the forestry (abovesaid) was worth 100s. before it was disafforested.

I (defective). ... 2 virgates land, ... were sometime held by the said Ralph of the king in chief, rendering 20s. yearly, and he ought to carry the king's writs for the sheriff of Gloucester in every place ... and to attend the king's court at the Berton without Gloucester, and be taxed with the rest of the said Berton; but he sold 9a. arable and a grove of 4a. to Sir Ralph de Wilyton ...; he alienated 28½a. arable, to whom unknown, rendering 5s. 1½d. yearly; he sold ... land and 1a. meadow to Sir William Daubeney, and John Daubeney holds it, rendering 22½d. yearly; he sold 3½a. arable and 11½a. meadow to the prior of St. Oswald's (who renders ?) 2s. yearly; he sold 36a. arable to Roger Gaumbeys, and Cecily la Muschegros holds it rendering 2s. 4½d. yearly; and he sold divers other parcels to divers persons (specified), including 8d. rent for 4a. meadow which Herbert, father of the said Ralph, sold to Peter ...; the whole tenement and rent aforesaid was thus alienated in the time of king Henry; and the tenants pay their rent and other services of the Berton ...

	Writ to Ralph de Sandwyco, the king's steward, on the complaint of Robert de Bures that a rent of 100s. from the manor of Certeleye given to him by the said earl had been unjustly detained by the king's steward after the earl's death, 20 Jan. 8 Edw. I.
Stafford.	Inq. (undated.) Cherteleg' manor. 100s rent were given by charter to Robert de Buris and his heirs by the said earl, who took his homage the 10th June, 4 Edw. I, in the full court of Cherteleg', and he had peaceful seisin by the hands of the earl's bailiffs, but the said earl detained the said rent for a year and more before his death.
