John Hall the elder and John Hall the younger to Thomas bishop of Durham. Recognisance for 1,000 marks, to be levied etc. in Sussex. (fn. 1)
Condition, that when the executors of John Assheburnham are ready upon warning of the bishop to shew how they paid certain debts to divers creditors of the testator of a sum of money to be hereafter received by John Hall the elder and the younger of John Pelham knight for the manor of Eweherst co. Sussex, John Hall the elder and the younger shall be ready at the discretion of the bishop to make restitution of the sum unduly paid or disposed of, if in presence of Robert Oxebrigge and Adam Ywode it shall before him be found that the same or any parcel thereof was by them unduly paid.

Quitclaim with warranty of all messuages, lands, rents, services, homages and reversions in Uppecote Hals and Alverdiscote, Davysheanton, Petrismerlande and Alleslonde and in the parishes of Northam, Bydeforde, Litelham, Petrismerlande and Bokelonde Fillegh sometime of Oliver his father. Hertford and Essex, which Thomas his father, with Peter de Dalton, John Burton and Lawrence Allerthorp clerks had by gift of William son of Roger Gerberge, and the said John the son gave by charter to the said parson and the others. Writ of supersedeas omnino in respect of any process against John Hals, William Babyngton and William Wallere, appointed with others to seize into the king's hand and safe keep until further order all lands in Suffolk whereof Elizabeth Wolverston was seised at her death, but order to proceed against others who did meddle therein; as that commission came not ever to their hands, as they have made oath in chancery. (fn. 2)
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100l., made in chancery 3 June this year by Walter Lynton master of the house of St. Lazarus Burton co. Derby (sic), John Coly citizen and skinner of London, William Chaunterell of Cheshire 'gentilman' and Henry Chorley of Chorley co. Stafford 'gentilman' for John Macclesfelde clerk, and of an undertaking by him under a pain of 600l., that he shall not depart to foreign parts without licence of the king, nor there make any suit or attempt in an alien court contrary to the laws and statutes of the realm which may tend to prejudice of the king or hurt of the people.
Condition, that before the octaves of St. John Baptist next it shall be found before the chancellor that, by recognisance made of record in the King's Bench in the late king's time, John Macclesfelde did find security that he should make no suit or attempt in the court of Rome which might tend to contempt or prejudice of the king, or hurt of the people, or at that day he shall render himself in chancery.

William Suthcote, son of John Suthcote esquire of Surrey, to John Halle citizen and goldsmith of London, brother of Robert Halle goldsmith, and to Maud his wife, sister of the said William, and the heirs of their bodies. Confirmation with warranty of their estate in the messuage with garden adjacent and appurtenances in the parish of St. Olave Southwerke called the 'Crouchehous,' as enclosed with metes, hays and ditches, by virtue of a charter indented whereby William Selby clerk, John Hoclee of Essex and Simon Leefe citizen of London made a demise thereof to the said John Halle and Maud and to the heirs of their bodies, with remainder to the said William Suthcote, son of the said John and Alice, his heirs and assigns, which messuage William Selby and the others had jointly with Master John Oudeby, John Yve clerks, Richard Radewelle of Essex, Thomas de Berugh of Surrey, Richard Wedoun and Robert Watevyle citizens of London then deceased by demise and feoffment of the said John Suthcote and Alice his wife, and which was sometime of Master John Godriche serjeant and cook of Edward the late king.
