Westminster.
To the sheriffs of London. Order upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made of the appointment and agreement made 14 July last between the king's ambassadors on behalf of England and commissaries on behalf of Flanders, that the sufferances, securities and provisions long since made between the parties, and many times prolonged, touching the common course of traffic, the passage of clerks and pilgrims, and the business of fishermen, which expired on Easter day last, and which the said ambassadors and commissaries would have again for the purposes aforesaid, shall be renewed and resumed, and in their treaty by appointment aforesaid are renewed under the same or like form wherein they were made and were or ought to have been kept, to remain in force from this date until Allhallows next, the war between France and England notwithstanding; and order to cause the same to be observed unless the king shall make other order; as his will is that the agreement be speedily brought to the knowledge of all lieges concerned. Like writs to nine other sheriffs of twelve counties, the sheriffs of Newcastle upon Tyne and Bristol, and to Humphrey duke of Gloucester, being constable of Dovorre castle and warden of the Cinque Ports, or to his lieutenant.
