Westminster.
William Cornewaille esquire to Humphrey duke of Gloucester chamberlain of England. Recognisance for 40s., to be levied etc. of his lands and chattels in Herefordshire. (fn. 1)
Condition, that Roland Leynthale knight, who has taken to wife Margaret one of the sisters and heirs of Thomas earl of Arundell, if he shall have issue by her, shall in name of the chamberlain's fee pay 13s. 4d. to the said chamberlain or to Simon Gaunstede keeper of the chancery rolls and receiver of the chamberlain's fees in chancery.

John Huse of Froylle to Robert Bury. Recognisance for 10 marks, to be levied etc. in the county of Suthampton. (fn. 1)
Condition, that he shall pay 5 marks on the day named.

Auckland.
Marmaduke Lumley clerk to Richard de Neville knight. Recognisance for 2,000l., to be levied etc. of his lands and chattels and church goods in Kent. (fn. 1)
Condition, that the said Richard, his heirs, executors and assigns, shall enjoy all castles, manors, lordships, lands, rents, fees, advowsons, services etc. which were ever of Richard Lescrope knight and came to the king's hands by his death and by reason of the nonage of Henry his son and heir, or may hereafter come to the king's hands by reason of the nonage of any heirs of Henry Lescrope, according to the king's letters patent made to Richard de Neville concerning the ward thereof, without any disturbance, claim or suit in chancery or elsewhere against them made by the said Marmaduke, or by any other having estate, right or claim through him during the nonage of such heirs, saving always the release of a castle and certain tenements of Richard Lescrope made by the said Marmaduke and William Mayhu to Ralph earl of Westmerland. Proviso that Marmaduke may enjoy any parcel of the said lands which Margaret late the wife of Roger Lescrope knight shall demise to him for a term of years or otherwise, in case she shall obtain lawful possession of the same as dower or jointure.
