Dec. 3. Westminster.	Thomas Morestede the king's serjeant is sent to the prior and convent of St. Swithun Winchester, to [take] such maintenance as William Asshe deceased had therein. By p.s. [156.]

Dec. 6. Westminster.	To Edward Beastede knight. Writ of supersedeas, by mainprise of John Pokelyngton of Hertfordshire, John Trummyn of London 'brewer,' Richard Flete 'brewer,' Thomas Cays 'baker' and William Godefelawe 'brewer,' all of London, in favour of Richard Chapman clerk and John Chapman of Munden; as their complaint shews that, although they are free men and of free condition, and are ready to prove their freedom, scheming to aggrieve them, and claiming them as fugitive neifs of his, which they are not, the said Edward has taken and imprisoned them, and is minded to do it anew, to hinder them from proving their freedom, and from prosecuting writs of trespass brought against him which are returnable before the king in the octaves of Michaelmas next; and John Pokelyngton and the others have mainperned in chancery that they shall prosecute those writs without fraud or covin, and that if adjudged to be his neifs, or if they prosecute not those writs, they shall be given up to him again.
Dec. 16. Westminster.	Richard Cliderowe esquire and Thomas Somerton to Robert Asshecombe citizen and 'brouderer' of London. Recognisance for 1,000l., to be levied etc. in Kent and Essex.
	Condition, that they shall abide and perform the award of Alan Everarde and Martin Kelham citizens and mercers of London, arbitrators chosen on behalf of the said Robert, and of John Shawe citizen and vintner and Richard Bures citizen and mercer of London on their behalf, touching all debates, actions and demands against them contained in a bill pending in chancery at suit of the said Robert, and that they shall appear before those arbitrators at all days and places limited, so that the award be made before Easter next, and if the arbitrators may not agree, they shall shew their whole dealing to John Preston recorder of London the umpire, and the said Richard and Thomas shall stand to his decree, so that it be made before Midsummer next.
	Cancelled on payment.
	Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 20l., made in chancery 17 December this year by John Child and Thomas Mayster of London, Lawrence Higdoun and John Edwarde of Devon, that they shall have Peter Gossoun in chancery when required.
