To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas in respect of their demand upon John Riggewyn, son and heir of John Riggewyn deceased, and upon John de Leventhorp of Hertfordshire esquire and Robert Southwelle of Notynghamshire his mainpernors, to answer or account for the issues of a manor called Doos, messuages called Sotes, Grenons, Warynes, Riggewynes and Putmans, 200 acres of land, 30 acres of meadow, 60 acres of pasture and 40 acres of wood in Staundoun, taken into the late king's hand by Robert Wrytele his escheator in Hertfordshire, until debate shall be had in the king's court whether the same ought to pertain to the king or to John the son; as a plea concerning the premises is pending between them in chancery.

John Norbury esquire to Salomon Fresthorp, Thomas Denton, Nicholas Banastre and Richard Tyrell, their executors and assigns. Gift of his estate in the sums hereinafter mentioned, until some heir of Alice daughter and heir of Richard de Sancto Mauro knight and Mary his wife shall come of age; reciting letters patent of 3 July 13 Henry IV, whereby that king confirmed divers gifts and grants for a sum of money made to John Norbury by Thomas de Lancastre steward of England, namely of all extents and sums then or after extended of all manors, lands, knights' fees and advowsons which came to that king's hands by death of the said Richard and Mary and by reason of the nonage of the said Alice, the ward whereof that king granted to Hugh Mortymer his esquire until the full age of the said Alice, and if she should die and her heir be within age until the full age of such heir, and so from heir to heir until one should come of age, rendering yearly at the exchequer the extent thereof, and of reversions which should fall in, and reciting that the same, and those which came to the late king's hands after the death of Ela mother of the said Richard, are extended at divers sums amounting to 214l. 16s. 8d. John Norbury esquire to Thomas Cressy and John Eton citizens and mercers of London. General release of all actions, suits, plaints and demands of John Norbury and of Dionysius Lopham clerk and Henry Somer by reason of a bond in 273l. 10s. to them given by the said mercers. Dated 27 March 2 Henry V.

Nicholas Neweman, son of John Neweman late citizen of New Sarum, to Henry Somer and Katherine his wife, who was wife of John Neweman his father, and to the heirs and assigns of Henry Somer. Quitclaim with warranty of the messuage with garden adjacent, and with tenements and houses attached in the said city, situate in 'Carterestrete' between a shop of the said John on the south and shops late of Hugh Crane of Wynchester on the north, the same being now held by them in right of the said Katherine for her life as her free bench of her husband's lands in that city. To the sheriffs of London and Middlesex. Order upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made and notice given of the king's present will, and that his lieges and subjects shall repair to the receipt of the exchequer at Westminster at the feast of Allhallows for payment of the sums hereinafter mentioned, if they shall think fit; as lately the king ordered the sheriffs to cause proclamation to be made in the city and suburbs and in the said county that, after 8 May last, all lieges to whom sums of money were due for any victuals of them taken for consumption of his household and any other property for his wardrobe while prince, and after he took upon him the governance of the realm up to the feast of St. George last, for which at that time they were not contented, should repair to the receipt aforesaid for payment, bringing with them all tallies, bills and evidences bearing witness thereof, and that between 8 May and Michaelmas next the king would take order for payment by the treasurer and others deputed for the purpose; but considering how that divers sums due to the captain, treasurer and hired soldiers of Calais for their wages, and for victuals etc. bought and purveyed for furnishing that town are in arrear, and willing that they shall have the preference, more especially as the town is known to be a great fortress, and situate upon the frontier of his enemies, the king has postponed payment to his said lieges until the feast of Allhallows. Edmund Bys, John Blovylle 'stokfysshmongere,' Robert Coke 'glover' and John Sirre 'glover,' all of London, to the king. Recognisance for 100 marks, to be levied etc. in the city of London.
Condition, that Bertram Walcote shall abide the award of the mayor and twelve aldermen of London in respect of all actions, demands and plaints pending between him and Thomas Pyke and Peter Graunt, so that the same be made before Whitsuntide next.

To Henry Fitz Hugh and John Rothenale knights, and to John Hals and John Barton the younger, all appointed to make inquisition in Lincolnshire, Notynghamshire and Derbyshire concerning all rebellions, insurrections, felonies, riots, unlawful assemblies and conventicles, misprisions, extortions, oppressions, confederacies, contempts, maintenances, champerties, ambidextries, trespasses etc. there committed. John son and heir of Thomas Squyer of Holme in 'Spaldyngmore' to Isabel sometime wife of Gilbert de Lincoln of Blaktoft brother of the said John, and late the wife of Peter de Santon, her heirs and assigns. Quitclaim with warranty of all lands, rents and services of freeholders in Holme aforesaid, which the said Gilbert had by feoffment of the said John. Robert Morton esquire to John Peryent. Recognisance for 400l., to be levied etc. in Yorkshire.
Condition, that John Peryent, his heirs or assigns shall not be impleaded or troubled by Robert Morton his heirs, executors, assigns or feoffees, or by his ancestors, concerning lands, rents and services which in 6 Henry IV were of Robert Morton and were by him granted to John Peryent, so as to be condemned in any sum of gold or silver. Proviso that if they be impleaded or troubled so as to be condemned by judgment rendered without fraud or covin by reason of any feoffment made by Robert Morton or his ancestors, this recognisance shall remain in force.

Order upon sight etc. to cause proclamation to be made, that after 8 May next all his liege subjects to whom [are due] any sums of money for victuals taken for consumption of the king's household and other property for his wardrobe while he was prince and after he took upon him the governance of the realm up to the feast of St. George last, for which they are not yet contented, shall repair for payment to the receipt of the exchequer at Westminster, bringing with them all tallies, bills and evidences which witness the taking of the same, and the king shall take order for payment between that date and Michaelmas next by the treasurer and others by him deputed for the purpose; as in consideration that at the peril of his soul every christian is bound to pay his debts or content his creditors when he has the power, and in compassion for the poverty of great number of his said subjects, of his own motion the king's will is to take order for their payment.
