Westminster.
To the escheator in Warwickshire. Order to give Richard Beauchamp of Bergevenny knight and Isabel his wife, sister and heir of Richard son and heir of Thomas lord le Despenser, livery of the manors, fees and advowsons hereinafter mentioned, and the issues thereof taken since the death of Edward duke of York; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by the escheator, that at his death the duke held no lands in that county of the king or any other in his demesne as of fee, but by letters patent of 16 April 2 Henry V held for life the manors of Solyhull and Sheldoun, the advowsons of Solyhull church and of the free chapel of St. Alphege there, and the knights' fees and advowsons to those manors pertaining, with remainder to the said Richard and Isabel and to the heirs male of their bodies by virtue of other letters patent produced, to them made thereof and of other things 17 February 2 Henry V, by name of all castles, towns, lordships, manors, lands, rents, forests, parks, offices, rights, customs, possessions, jurisdictions, services etc., with the hundreds, swaynmotes, commotes, knights' fees, advowsons, reversions, etc. in England and Wales of the said Thomas which the duke had for life by grant of the king by reason of a judgment of forfeiture against the said Thomas rendered, that the reversion of the said manors, advowsons and fees after the death of Sibyl who was wife of Hugh le Despenser knight, who held the same for life of the heritage of the said Thomas and died 28 August last, did pertain to the said Thomas, that the duke held the same for life by grant of the king with remainder as aforesaid, and they that are held in chief by knight service; and for a fine paid in the hanaper the king respited the homage of the said Richard for the premises and for lands in other counties until a day now past, and commanded the escheator in the counties of Suthampton and Wiltesir to take his fealty.
