To John Clipsham, William Heryng, Nicholas Maudyt and John Chamberleyn, appointed to arrest John Gerveys of Bilston, and bring him straightway into chancery to answer touching what shall be laid against him. Writ of supersedeas omnino, by mainprise of William Bourghchier and Roger Assheton knights, who have mainperned under a pain of 100l. to have him there upon warning received.

To the treasurer and the barons of the exchequer. Writ of supersedeas in respect of their demand upon John Danyell and Nicholas Parys to answer or account for the issues or farm of the alien priory of Lynton from 16 November last, and order to discharge them and their mainpernors from that date; as by letters patent of 27 October 1 Henry V the king committed to them by a mainprise the keeping of the said priory from Michaelmas then last during the war with France, rendering to him 40 marks a year as the last farmers there used to do, and 10 marks a year increase; and by other letters patent of 27 January following he granted to Queen Joan his mother, John de Tibbay clerk now deceased and Thomas Feriby clerk, among other things, 33l. 6s. 8d. a year of the keeping of that priory, to the queen's use for her life by the hands of the farmers thereof, in part recompense for 3,910 marks 3s. 3½d. to her lacking of her dower and in part of her dower, granting them that if by restitution of letters patent for non-payment, by death of the occupiers, inability of any of the farmers, general or special resumption thereof by authority of parliament or other cause any of the priories, manors or lands to them so granted, or any parcel thereof should or ought to come to the king's hands, the same should straightway remain to the queen, with the annuities, pensions, portions, apports, tithes, oblations, mortuaries, courts, rents, suits, services, villeins, profits etc. whatsoever to the said priories and possessions belonging, as fully as the king should or ought to have them if he were to keep them in his own hands; and on 16 November last with assent of the said queen the said John Danyell and Nicholas gave up their letters patent in chancery to be cancelled.
