Westminster.
To the sheriffs of London. Strict order to cause proclamation to be made and public notice given, forbidding all lieges within the city and suburbs of London upon their allegiance and under pain of forfeiture to make or procure to be made upon any feigned pretence any commotions, disturbances of the peace, riots, insurrections or unlawful assemblies, but to abide in peace and quiet, as it is the king's earnest desire, and order to arrest and commit to prison all whom after the proclamation they shall find making such commotions etc., there to abide until the king shall take other order for their punishment; as the late king is dead, so that the succession devolves upon the king, and his will is that, so far as he may be aided by the author of peace, there shall be peace in all the borders of his realm, and to that end every source of discord may be done away. Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 200l., made in chancery 12 October this year by Thomas Straunge esquire and Robert Dyke clerk for Lawrence Merbury knight chancellor of Ireland, that he shall appear in person before the council three weeks after Easter next to answer touching what shall be laid against him on behalf of the king.
John Piers of Southtoun Dertemouthe to John Langemede the elder, his heirs and assigns. Charter with warranty of the whole tenement in Southtoun Dertemouthe with garden adjacent, between the high road below on the east side and the hill called 'Crowetorre' above on the west, a tenement of John Hoigge on the north and the curtilage of William Hamelyn on the south; also of a house with a close adjacent at Tunstall within the manor of Norton between the high roads there on the south and west sides, a close of Gervase Cottebury on the north and the house and curtilage of John Fowell on the east. Witnesses: Ralph Lawe, Thomas Bukke, John Brademore, Henry Goldsmyth, John atte Wode. Dated Southtoun Dertemouthe, Monday after the Invention of Holy Cross 10 Henry V.

William Brounyng parson of Uggeburgh, John Fouhelle, John Brounyng of Uggeburgh and John Lynegher of Aveton Giffarde to Roger Bolter precentor of the cathedral church of St. Peter Exeter. Recognisance for 500l., to be levied in default of payment of their lands and chattels in Devon.
Condition, that the said William and his successors parsons of Uggeburgh for the time being shall yearly pay to the said Roger at Exeter during his life a pension of 46 marks.
John Stafforde clerk and William Halle to Thomas Stonore, his heirs and assigns. Charter of demise of all lands, rents and services in the town of Westminster which the grantors had by feoffment of Thomas Chaucer, John Golofre, Hamon Belknap and John Warvile, under a condition that if the grantors, their heirs or assigns be impleaded in time to come concerning a tenement in the city of London which they have by gift of the said Thomas, and the same shall without fraud or covin be recovered by his heirs, the heirs of Thomas Pabenham or by any man who has right or title therein by them, their heirs or ancestors, or shall be evicted out of their possession by reason of the dower of Alice wife of Thomas Stonore, or of any recognisance, and they shall be thrust out, it shall be lawful for them, their heirs and assigns, again to enter and hold the tenements in Westminster in their first estate, this demise notwithstanding. Witnesses: Humphrey Stafforde knight, William Babyngton chief baron of the exchequer, Henry Somer esquire, Robert Charyngworth, Richard Knap. Dated 20 November 1 Henry VI.

John Rykhille, son of William Rykhille late knight, to Thomas bishop of Durham. Receipt and acquittance for 50 marks for the second payment; reciting an agreement between them made, that between 24 July 9 Henry V and the feast of Allhallows following James Hopwode nephew of the bishop should take to wife Joan daughter of John Rykhille, and that the bishop should pay the said John 50 marks on the day of this marriage, and other 50 marks at the end of one year following. Dated All Souls day 1 Henry VI.

Maud late the wife of Roger Salvayn knight to John Thoralby clerk and Thomas Holden esquire. Grant of the ward and marriage of Elizabeth daughter and heir of Margaret who was wife of Baldwin Straunge knight, and if she die before she come of age and her heir be within age they shall have the ward of all her said mother's lands and the marriage of such heir, and so from heir to heir until one shall come of age and they shall have the profit of the heir's marriage, willing that they maintain houses and buildings, bear all other charges, and find maintenance for the heir so long as they have this wardship; reciting letters patent whereby the late king committed to John duke of Bedford the ward of the said Margaret's lands and the marriage of the said Elizabeth, and so from heir to heir etc. as aforesaid, and letters patent whereby the duke granted the same to the said Maud. Dated London, 12 November 1 Henry VI.
