To the escheator in Lincolnshire. Order in presence of Margaret duchess of Clarence, Edmund earl of March, Richard Nevylle knight, Henry Brounflete knight and the next friends of Ralph son of Elizabeth late the wife of John Nevylle knight, or of their attorneys, to make a partition of the lands of the heritage of the said duchess, one of the sisters and heirs of Edmund earl of Kent, of Joan duchess of York a second sister whom Henry Brounflete has taken to wife, of the earl of March son of Eleanor a third sister, of Alice wife of Richard Nevylle and daughter of Eleanor late wife of Thomas earl of Salisbury a fourth sister, and of the said Ralph son of Elizabeth the fifth sister, a minor in ward of the king, cousins and heirs of the earl of Kent, which were held in dower by Lucy his wife, into five equal parts, and to give the duchess of Clarence, the earl of March and the said Alice seisin of their purparties, and the issues thereof taken since 10 June last, keeping the purparty of the said Ralph in the king's hand until further order, and proviso that each of the heirs and parceners shall have a share of the lands held in chief, and be a tenant of the king; as lately the king took the fealty of the duchess of Clarence, for a fine paid in the hanaper respited until a day yet to come her homage and the homages and fealties of the earl of March and of the said Richard, due by reason of issue between him and his wife begotten, and ordered the escheator in Yorkshire to take security for payment of their reliefs, in presence of the duchess of Clarence, the earl of March, the said Richard and Henry and the next friends of the said Ralph, or of their attorneys, to make a partition of the said lands into five equal parts, and to give the duchess of Clarence, the earl and the said Richard and Alice seisin of their purparties, and on 10 June last gave like order to the then escheator in Lincolnshire, keeping the purparties of the said duchess of York and Ralph in the king's hand until further order, with proviso (as above); and that escheator was removed from office before he had executed the said writ.
