William Scalby to William prior of Wartre, William Hungate and Richard Hungate. Recognisance for 16l. 13s. 4d., to be levied etc. in Yorkshire and the city of York.
Membrane 12d.
Richard Waldegrave knight the younger and Richard Waldegrave knight the elder. Indenture of defeasance of a recognisance for 200 marks made in chancery by Richard the elder, upon condition that if before Easter next Richard the elder shall receive an estate in the manor of Hanyngton co. Northampton to him and Joan his wife for her life with remainder to Richard the younger and his heirs, Richard the elder and Joan after being thereof enfeoffed shall suffer Richard the younger and his attorneys to occupy that manor during the life of Richard the elder, taking all issues and profits thereof arising, and that Richard the younger and his heirs shall not be impleaded or troubled touching the right and possession thereof by reason of any charge by deed of Richard the elder or his feoffees, or by any other having an estate therein before this date after the death of Richard Waldegrave father of Richard the elder, or by reason of any bond, statute staple, statute merchant or recognisance made by Richard the elder or his feoffees. Memorandum of acknowledgment by the parties, 4 December.
Memorandum of a mainprise under a pain of 100l., made in chancery 2 December this year by John Clerke of Colchestre co. Essex 'gentilman,' John Pecke of Coupole co. Bedford 'gentilman,' William Joynour of London 'steynour' and Henry Botenham of Wilton co. Wiltesir 'gentilman' for Thomas Pecke, that he shall appear in person in chancery in the octaves of St. Hilary next.
Marginal note, that he did that day appear, that a day was given the mainpernors until the morrow of Ascension day next under the same pain, and that he did that day appear.
