Feb. 5.
Westminster.
John Stokes and Thomas Giffarde esquire, both of Twyforde co. Bukingham, to Thomas Chaumbre, William Vaus esquires and Thomas Tresham. Recognisance for 200l., to be levied etc. in Bukinghamshire.
Condition, that before Easter next Eleanor daughter of William Vaus esquire shall have an estate for life in the manors of Astewelle and Helyden co. Norhampton and two carucates of land in 'Waterstratforde' co. Bukingham with all lands, rents, reversions, and services in Astewelle, Helyden and 'Waterstratforde' sometime of Roger Giffarde, so that it shall be lawful for her to make waste therein without impeachment.

Condition, that within fifteen days after warning given to them or William Hill their attorney they shall have John Hill of Burforde co. Oxford esquire before the king and council, and from day to day until by the council dismissed; and in case they or any of them would be discharged of him, they shall at some day give him up to the king and council.

Writ of supersedeas until the quinzaine of Michaelmas next in respect of their demand against Humphrey Lowe esquire, to whom by letters patent of 20 February 4 Henry VI the king committed the keeping of the manor of Arley co. Stafford, to answer or account for the issues of the same taken since Whitsuntide 6 Henry VI; as a plea is pending in chancery between the said Humphrey and John Harpur, to whom by other letters patent, of 10 July 6 Henry VI the king after committed the keeping thereof by the name of the manor of Arneley otherwise Arley for twenty years from Whitsuntide in that year, wherefore the letters to John Harpur ought not to be revoked.

Wymerus Preston of Wodecroft co. Northampton esquire to William lord Zouche and St. Maur, his heirs and assigns. Gift with warranty of the manor of Gretton and all advowsons, liberties etc. thereto belonging, under a condition that if during the life of the said Wymerus a yearly rent of 20l. of the manor of Berughby, to him granted for life, among other things, by writing indented of the said William dated 2 March 8 Henry VI, or any parcel thereof shall be one whole year in arrear, it shall be lawful for the said Wymerus to enter the manor of Gretton, advowsons etc., and again to hold the same in his first estate, this charter indented and the livery of seisin thereupon notwithstanding.
