Condition of the foregoing recognisances, that John Pirye shall abide the award of John archbishop of York the chancellor or of his counsel concerning all guilt of venison now or hereafter found against him by his own confession, by witnesses or otherwise in and upon the lands and possessions of the lordships of Tremworth, Faune, Olynteghe and generally those of the archbishop or his neighbours, that he shall reveal the names of others whatsoever by him known to have been so guilty, and that henceforward he shall not hunt thereupon, not give aid, counsel or assent to any others so doing, but if he shall know any so guilty he shall reveal it to the archbishop or one of his counsel.

Indenture of award made by Thomas Overton and John Chynnore in respect of discencion and plees be twene Henry Abyndoun wardeyn of the hous of scolers of Merton in Oxenforde lordes of Maldoun in the shire of Surrey and Rauf Codyngton some tyme lorde of Codyngton in the same shire and afterwarde Symond Codyngton his sone and heire and Thomas Codyngton brother and heir to Symond, now lord of Codyngton, for takyng of averes of the same wardeyn and unryghtfull with holdyng a yens wedde and borwe in the town of Maldoun in a place y called Pistelhill in Sparewfelde, as in plees y moved in the Common Place atte Westminster and in the Kynges Benche is conteigned, the parties being bound in 100l. to stonde to their awarde, first that the parties shall make newe seurete to abide and performe the awarde, and shall be gode frendes, and that alle manere plea shall cesse be twene hem, alle evidences contrarie to the awarde shall be voide, all evidence of this and eny other londes not prejudiciall to Thomas Codyngton and his heirs that ben vaillable to the wardeyn and his successours shall be delivered to the wardeyn be twene this and the feste of Ester next yif required, and al evidence not prejudiciall to the wardeyn and his successours availlable to Thomas Codyngton and his heirs shall be delivered to the same Thomas; that the wardeyne and his successours shall pasture and her men and tenauntes of Maldoun shall commune with averes and alle maner of bestes communable in all that parcell of wast in Sparwefelde be twene Maldoun towne on the north, the arrable feldes of Codyngton on the south, the Worthfelde on the west and a path called Fysshereswey on the est with out distourbance, and ayenwarde Thomas Codyngton and all that have any state in the manoir of Codyngton and her heirs lordes of Codyngton shall pasture, and her men and tenauntz of Codyngton shall commune in all that parcell above lymyted; noght with stondyng the manoir of Codyngton be entailled or eny other cause, or thogh the manoir of Maldoun be amorteisid or eny other cause, what that ever shall be labored at bothe parties costes to be made seure by avise of lawe in all hast, alweys y saved the right, possession and the use of other men that have usid with out tyme of mynde in the wast above lymyted; and in signe that debate is concludid and pees y made, the wardeyn and his successours shall with holde Thomas Codyngton, and yeve hym yerely duryng his life a robe of gentilmannes liverey with a liverey furre, or elles a marke of silver atte the luste of the wardeyn atte Cristemasse.
