Westminster.
Richard Stanhope of Notynghamshire and John Cokayn of Derbyshire knights to John Kyghley knight. Recognisance for 1,000l., to be levied etc. in the counties aforesaid. (fn. 1)
Condition, that after affirmation of judgment in an assize of novel disseisin concerning tenements in Thedilthorp, Malberthorp, Saltfletby, Strubby, Carleton, Gayton and Wythern co. Lincoln taken before Robert Tirwhit and John Kyme justices of assize appointed with others between Thomas Roos of Hamelake, Walter Tailboys the elder, Walter Tailboys the younger, John Tailboys, John Fulnetby, Richard Wryght, William Heton and John Hamsterlay plaintiffs and John Kyghley knight, Robert Magnus, Stephen Segesforde and William Catton defendants, the record whereof is in the King's Bench, Walter Tailboys the elder shall in court acknowledge that he is contented of the damages thereby recovered, except moneys, goods and chattels previously had by all the plaintiffs in part of execution, and with that exception shall discharge the said John thereof, or that after such affirmation all the plaintiffs shall by writing sufficient in law make the defendants a release of all those damages with the exception aforesaid, and that after such affirmation and acknowledgment or release Walter Tailboys the elder shall by writing or writings enrolled in chancery make and deliver to John Kyghley, William Kyghley, John Bailly, John Hill, Robert Charyngworth, Simon Ruston, Thomas Broke knight, Thomas Carston knight, Roger Clyderowe esquire, John Newlande, Thomas Raulee, Robert Magnus, Stephen Segesforde and William Catton a release of all actions real and personal by reason of any intrusion, occupation, trespass or interest in the lands aforesaid to 1 February next.
William Perers 'gentilman' to Thomas Gloucestre esquire, Anne his wife and William Thornton, and to the heirs and assigns of Thomas Gloucestre. Charter with warranty of his manors of Perers and Barouns otherwise 'Oldeknyghtes,' and all other his lands, rents, reversions and services in Chesthunte and Wormele and elsewhere in Hertfordshire. Witnesses: William Rokesburgh, Robert Suthwelle, John Parker esquires, Thomas Cok, John Forster, William Haver, William Pyke. Dated Chesthunte, 9 February 9 Henry VI.

John Edward, Adam Frenssh, Thomas Julyan and Richard Philpot of Hastynges to Richard Whatton esquire and Katherine his wife, cousin and heir of Richard Huntyngton late of Hastynges, and to the said Katherine's heirs. Charter of a tenement with rents and other appurtenances late of Thomas Swothe in the parish of St. Clement Hastynges which the grantors had by feoffment of Richard Huntyngton, between a tenement and land of John Large on the north and east, the high street leading from Hastynges market to Wynchelse in the said parish on the west and a tenement of Agnes Bentle now in the tenure of Hugh Boteler on the south. William Vale, son of Thomas Vale late citizen and grocer of London, to John Gladewyn of London 'gentilman' and Agnes his wife. Confirmation of their estate in eight messuages, 242 acres of land, 32 acres of meadow, 4 acres of wood, 150 acres of heath and 15s. 1d., of rent in Lindefelde, Cokefelde, Wyvelesfelde, Worthe, Turnoureshille and Lewes, whereof by charter (text follows) dated Lyndefelde 12 October 7 Henry VI, and witnessed by Richard Wakeherst, John Payne, Thomas Cokefelde, James Homewode, Thomas Mafeye, Simon Soiour and John Saiere, Henry Haunsarde and Thomas Crofton clerks made a demise and feoffment to them and their assigns during the life of the said Agnes, subject nevertheless to the exceptions and limitations therein contained; by which charter, reciting a fine thereof levied at Westminster in the quinzaine of Easter 5 Henry VI, and after in the octaves of Trinity that year, between the said clerks plaintiffs and the said John Gladewyn and Agnes deforciants, whereby the deforciants acknowledged the right of Thomas Crofton, the said clerks demised the premises to the said John and Agnes for her life without impeachment of waste, except the tenement or messuage called Palmers in Lyndefelde, and 6s. 8d. of yearly rent issuing from a tenement there sometime of John Morynge 'bakere' and after of Alice Colwelles, with remainder to the said William Vale and the heirs of his body, remainder for lack of issue, or if he should commit waste therein to the value of 5 marks, or alien, sell, grant or pledge the premises or any parcel thereof in breach of the entail, to Beatrice Vale his sister and to the heirs of her body, remainder under like conditions to Richard Michelbourne and to the heirs of his body, remainder under like conditions to Thomas Sakeham and to the heirs of his body, remainder under like conditions to Agnes wife of Nicholas Barton and to the heirs of her body, remainder under like conditions to the next right heirs of Agnes wife of John Gladewyn. To the sheriff of Northumberland. Order to cause proclamation to be made of the truce agreed by commissaries and envoys of the king and commissaries of James king of the Scots, namely a partial truce by land by reason of exceptions made on either side as hereinafter described, and a general truce by sea for five years, from sunset on 1 May next, 1431, until sunset on 1 May 1436, either party ceasing by himself, his vassals, lieges and subjects the capture of persons, goods, fortified towns, castles, fortresses and other places, pillage, plunder, arson, demolition of houses and walls, felling of fruit trees and others throughout the realms, lands, lordships or places subject or pertaining to one another and all other deeds of war, except that portion of England on the south side of St. Michaels Mount in Cornwall to the sea, and that part of Scotland on the north side of the river Forne between Moray and Ross to the sea. Like writs to twelve other sheriffs of fifteen counties, the sheriffs of London, the sheriff of Bristol, and the chancellor in the county palatine of Lancastre.
