Order to the sheriff of Lincoln for election of a coroner in the parts of Lyndesey instead of William de Bleseby, who is too sick and aged to travail in exercise of that office.

To the escheator in Yorkshire. Order to take the fealties of Henry bishop of Winchester, Thomas bishop of Durham, Walter Hungerforde knight, John Laurence and John Russell, and to give them livery of the castle and manor of Conesburght and the manor of Hatefelde, and the issues thereof taken since the death of Philippa who was wife of Edward late duke of York; as it is found by inquisition, taken before John Thwaytes late escheator, that the said duke was seised of the said castle and manors, which are held in chief by knight service, that with licence of the king he made a feoffment thereof to the said bishops and the others, and to Roger Flore of Okeham, Peter de Mavaun of Gascony, Henry Brasy and John Wykes all now deceased, and to their heirs, that after his death the said Philippa brought a writ of dower in the late king's court against those feoffees, and recovered a third part thereof, which was by the sheriff assigned to her by virtue of a writ of habere facias seisinam, and that she died thereof seised in dower with reversion to the surviving feoffees; and for 6s. 8d. paid in the hanaper the king has respited their homages until Christmas day next.

To the escheator in Suffolk. Order to remove the king's hand and meddle no further with the manor of Todenham, delivering to Edmund Benstede knight and Eleanor his wife any issues thereof taken; as the king has learned by inquisition, taken by the escheator, that Edward Benstede knight at his death held that manor for life by feoffment of Richard Rykedoun and John Belers clerk, with remainder to the said Edmund his son and Eleanor, and to the heirs of their bodies, and that it is not held of the king.

To the sheriff of Cumberland. Order to cause a regard to be made of the forest of Inglewode, so that the same be made before the octaves of Michaelmas next.

To the abbot and convent of Wynchecombe for the time being. Order to pay to Ralph Rocheforde 38l. a year, and the arrears for Easter term last; as King Henry IV by letters patent, confirmed by the late king and by the king 21 December 1 Henry VI, granted to the said Ralph for life 38l. a year which the abbot and convent and their successors are bound to pay at the exchequer for the keeping of the hundreds of Kiftesgate, Holforde and Greston, with fairs and markets holden in the town of Wynchecombe, 'wayf' and 'strayf,' [the goods] of felons and fugitives, the view of frankpledge and other liberties, free customs and profits, notwithstanding that by grant of the same king he has for life the castle or lordship of Somerton without rendering aught, 140 marks of the lordship of Bolyngbroke, 40l. of a pension of the abbot of Spaldynge, 40l. of the Isle of Axholm, the office of steward of Boston with a fee of 10 marks a year, the priory of Stoureprewes and all lands, rents and possessions thereto belonging, and the manor of Newenton Longeville without rendering aught to the king, but paying to Thomas Erpyngham knight deceased 50 marks a year thereof, to him granted for life by the said king, and after his death paying 50 marks a year at the exchequer.

To the chief butler or his representative in the port of St. Botolphs town for the time being. Order to deliver to Ralph Rochefort one tun of wine of Gascony a year and the arrears for Easter term last; as King Henry IV by letters patent, confirmed (as above), granted to the said Ralph one tun thereof a year in that port for life at Easter and Michaelmas by even portions, notwithstanding other gifts and grants to him made by that king or by his forefathers.

To the farmers or occupiers of the manor of Redeswelle co. Essex for the time being. Order to pay to Richard Stucle 15l. a year for life and the arrears since Michaelmas last; as King Richard II by letters patent, confirmed by King Henry IV, the late king and by the king 19 January 1 Henry VI, granted for life to the said Richard his esquire 15l. a year of the issues, profits etc. of that manor, even as Stephen Hadele deceased had.
